So proud of this piece that my team made in collaboration with the AU Marketing team and the 21 athletics teams that we worked with!

Customer Appreciation Night
We love when we get to do stylized edits!
In this case, Automatic Pool Covers, Inc. threw a super cool customer appreciation event at The Slippery Noodle, a night that included some rock performances by the CEO himself π€πΌ
Here's the recap video that we produced for the evening:
Same settings, same color grade, only thing that changed was the sun popping out!
Good light is worth waiting for.
It was freezing outside when we shot this, but I had Francis wait with Caitlynn just outside the frame until the sun came out. We were there for maybe a minute but it felt like six.
Having the courage and patience to ask subjects to do stuff like this is one of the little ways I've grown in my time of doing videography, and I really think it contributes a lot to the final product.
So to my creative friends out there: don't be afraid to ask for what you want/need for your vision!
Thanks for your patience, Francis :)

I'm not gonna lie, our trip to Phoenix last week was as glamorous as it looks. That's about as snazzy a work trip as we'll ever take, I think!
Here's a recap video we put together for the Parker Mortgage Team, which is our connection to the sales rally.
Congrats to Finance of America for putting on an amazing three-day event ππΌππΌ

Producing this piece for @parker was so fun!
Happy Thanksgiving :)

Highlight reel from Friday night π₯ π
Miguel did a great job getting some long takes of big plays, chasing the action with the P6k Pro on the RS2 ππΌππΌ
I shot from the other side of the field with a long lens, the Rokinon 135mm
5 days, 5 shoots.
Well, six shoots, actually. We had two on Tuesday. Just remembered that.
Here's the thing though: I don't ever want to glamorize or normalize over-working or workaholism, both of which I've struggled with. I believe that our jobs serve us, not the other way around!
But I do want to celebrate growth and trust, and increasing your personal capacity. That's the opportunity I've been afforded by Caitlynn and Miguel, without whom weeks like this would not have been possible, let alone so successful.
Very thankful for so many great clients and for two amazing teammates. Great work and thank you, Caitlynn Elkins and Facebookless Miguel!
GoPro Testing at the Pool!
Day 1 of GoPro testing with Scarlett: great success ππ
I've never shot with a GoPro in my work because it was never the right thing for me or my clients...but I've got a project coming up for a water activities client so I figured it was time to take the LITERAL PLUNGE.

So grateful for Miguel and Caitlynn!
San Diego Trip - 2021
Finally got around to editing the family footage from my work trip to San Diego in March!
Special thanks to John at Cover Care who recommended we visit Mount Soledad :)
Shot this for fun with a young guy I met on the street in Chicago...slap any logo on the end of it and you've got yourself a fashion ad π
Team Update!
Team update!
That's right. I have a team now.
Big love, tiny moment
For parents of 2021 graduates:
My favorite, most human moment of filming the Anderson University graduation last week resulted in a shot that took a couple seconds in the recap edit, but took much longer to capture.
I was going around getting shots of proud parents taking photos, and I found this lady and camped out for a second so I could capture her actually pressing the shutter button when the moment came. I waited....and waited.........
I wondered what was going on before eventually realizing that she had stood up several minutes early in order to make sure that she was ready when her student finally crossed the stage.
I'm guessing she was his mom. I decided that even though I didn't necessarily need the shot, I wanted to honor her love and wait with her, as long as it took.
As we waited together, I thought about how much love and care she had put into his life over the past 22 years, all in hopes of creating a bright future for him. On his side he had put in years of work and studying and I'm sure he had emotional ups and downs. She'd probably run him something that he'd forgotten at home at some point. Might have fielded a sobbing phone call after a break-up. Might have prayed over his finals. And now all of that investment was culminating in a moment that was just seconds away.
When the moment finally came, a girl who might be his sister gave a loud cheer for him, and the lady snapped a couple unceremonious shots on her iPhone from the back of the room. And that was it. It was just a little tiny moment, but I knew that in some ways I had just witnessed the apex of this education journey that they'd been on, and it filled my heart with a heavy, grief-stiff-arming joy.
Such mingled emotions to see your child grow up and spread their wings! My daughter is only 4 and I've already felt the joyful pain of watching her independence grow.
To all the supportive parents and families of 2021 graduates: I may not have filmed your moment, but it still matter

One week, three seasons. Raising a 4-year-old in Indiana.
Malik
If I could place bets on someone's potential for success based solely on the impact of their smile, I'd place a hefty wager on Malik :)

The Lord's Prayer - Strings Only
I'm not ashamed to say that I wept several times while filming this beautiful music.
For the video edit of Heartland Church's performance of "The Lord's Prayer" for Easter services, the audio engineer had the strings section do a couple passes without the rest of the music team so he could have clean audio of just them.
I made this edit with two takes from the shoot, and I left in some of the camera adjustments and mistakes to show more of what the actual filming process looked like. The audio is live from my Pocket 6kPro which was used for the gimbal shot (RS2).
How many people in their lifetime get to stand four feet away from the majestic of a string quartet playing a song like this? I am so thankful for moments like this that I'm afforded because of the camera in my hands.
The Buying House - Let's Go With It!
The Buying House is a family business built on authenticity and family values, so when a good take was capped off by the sound of the kids upstairs I let it go for a few seconds so we could capture it, and then I said, "I think that was perfect!"
Later I showed them the edit and they loved it, and we led with it for their website/brand video. A spontaneous little moment that wouldn't work for most brands was perfectly on-brand for them ππΌ
