South Carolina Republican United States Senator, Tim Scott, says he'll take the next official step toward running for president in 2024 by forming an exploratory campaign this week. He'll join former Governor Nikki Haley as the second candidate from the Palmetto State...and hey, by the way there are only 286 days left until the New Hampshire primary.

Nikki Haley has has become only the second officially announced presidential candidate with the first primary just about one year away. We have Haley moving up by jumping Mike Pompeo here in SC moving her into 4th place.

Nikki Haley has indicated that she will formally announce her campaign for president on February 15th. Mike Pompeo has also made statements about getting ready to run while Mike Pence is visiting South Carolina on a more frequent basis. Does all this change the current rankings....no.

Donald Trump to hold rally at the SC Statehouse on January 28th to announce his state leadership team which has been said to include Senator Lindsey Graham, Governor Henry McMaster, and possibly a number of congressmen and members of the General Assembly.

Trump is the first candidate to officially announce for president. South Carolina is scheduled to hold the 2nd in the nation Republican Presidential Primary and the 1st in the South. Former Governor Nikki Haley and Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina have both been exploring the idea of running as well.
