Today, I would like to acknowledge the late Bebe Moore Campbell. She was a New York Times bestselling author who raised awareness of mental illness in the Black community. She had written two books that addressed the subject: “Sometimes My Mommy Gets Angry” and “72 Hour Hold.” She was also a founding member of NAMI-Inglewood. Nearly two years after her passing, the U.S. House of Representatives named July as Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month.

Today marks seven years since Prince passed away. May his legacy live on forever.

Something extraordinary happened on this day. Jesus; who was betrayed, beaten, mocked, insulted, and tortured on the Cross to His death; rose from the grave. He is risen! Jesus Christ defeated death, hell, and the grave—just as the Word says. God’s Word always comes to pass. Furthermore, the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in all of us who believe in Him! Jesus is now seated at the right hand of the Father. He is coming back for us. Soon. #easter #resurrectionsunday

They thought it was over. They wrapped Jesus’ body in linen, placed Him in a tomb, and closed it with a large stone. They thought it was over. The chief priests and the Pharisees thought His disciples would take His body away. They thought Jesus was deceiving people into thinking He would raise from the dead on the third day. They thought it was over. They placed a two guards by the tomb and a seal on the stone to make sure His disciples didn’t take His body away. They thought it was over. But, it’s NOT over…

Jesus suffered through betrayal at the hands of Judas, persecution, beatings, mocking, and humiliation. Amidst the pain, anguish, and despair Jesus suffered on the cross; He prayed for His enemies, assured a thief’s salvation, honored His mother, cried out to His Father, longed for physical sustenance, proclaimed the fulfillment of His purpose, and confirmed the safety of His Father’s presence. Even through His suffering, Jesus had a heart for the people. Because of His sacrifice, we are forgiven. We are healed. We are covered. We are free. There is no greater love than this. #GoodFriday
