I'M A SINGLE DAD OF TWO GIRLS – I WOKE UP TO PREPARE BREAKFAST FOR MY DAUGHTERS AND FOUND IT ALREADY COOKED.

I'm a single dad to two little girls, four and five years old. My wife left us to travel the world. Being a single dad is tough because, besides working, I have to cook, take them to daycare, and take care of them at home. They mean the world to me, but I'm often wiped out.

Recently, I woke up as usual, got my daughters dressed, and went to the kitchen to pour milk over their oatmeal. Imagine my surprise when I saw three plates of freshly made pancakes with jam and fruit waiting for us on the table. Worried, I checked the house for any uninvited guests and called my relatives to see if they had stopped by.

To my astonishment, I found no one at home, and all my relatives said they hadn't come over that morning. I tasted the pancakes before giving them to the kids, and they were fine. We had breakfast, and I took them to daycare. Puzzled, I hurried off to work.

When I returned home in the evening, I was amazed to find that the lawn had been mowed. I hadn't had time to mow it because of work. My curiosity was overwhelming, and I decided to find out who this benefactor was.

The next morning, I got up earlier than usual and hid in the kitchen.⬇️

"I built a sprawling mansion for Mom," Gerard said with a smug smile. "It's got ten bedrooms, a library, and even an indoor pool."

Howard chuckled. "That's cute. I sent her a Tesla with a personal chauffeur who's always on call. She'll never have to drive herself again."

Norman leaned back in his chair, his smile even bigger. "Amateurs. I sent Mom a brown parrot trained for twelve years by monks. It knows the entire Bible. All she has to do is name a verse, and it will recite it perfectly."

A week later, their mother sent thank-you notes and dumbfounded her sons with her answer.

I WAS CALLED TO SCHOOL OVER MY SON'S BEHAVIOR — IT ALL MADE SENSE WHEN I SAW WHO HIS TEACHER WAS

The call from my son's new school caught me off guard. I had been praying he'd settle in, especially since we moved around so much, and I knew how tough it was for him... But the tone in the principal's voice told me otherwise. Things weren't going as smoothly as I'd hoped. They were asking me to come in.

The next day, I walked into the school, holding my son's hand tightly. The closer we got to the principal's office, the tighter my heart clenched. Please, let this time be different. No drama. Please.

An old man didn't have enough money to pay, but people...jeez, instead of helping, just cursed and drove him away. I couldn't stand it. I paid for him albeit with my last money.

The next morning, there were 2 jeeps near our tent.

I open it and... Oh my God, I just turn pale. Holding back tears, I asked with a trembling voice:

AFTER MY MOM'S DEATH, I FOUND MY CHILDHOOD PIC WITH HER & BOY WHO LOOKED LIKE ME—SO I SET OUT TO FIND HIM

I was never close to my mom. She always kept me at a distance, so when I grew up, I did the same. After she passed, I decided to sell the house I inherited from her.

To be honest, I knew nothing about my family. My mom never talked about it. So when she died, it felt like I truly had no one left—except for my wife, Cassandra.

Cassandra insisted we keep the old photo album from my mom's house. I thought it was pointless. Why would I want a relic from a life I had no interest in?

Fast forward a bit. One day, I was carrying Cassandra's bag when the album accidentally slipped out. A single photo fell to the ground. I picked it up without thinking, and that's when I saw it: me, my mom... and another boy. A boy my age who looked exactly like me.

I can't explain what happened in my chest at that moment.

I flipped the photo over. On the back, in my mom's handwriting, it said: "Ben and Ronnie, 1986."

In that moment, I knew I had to find out who Ronnie was—and what happened to him.
