MY MIL REFUSED TO ACCEPT MY DAUGHTER 20 YEARS AGO — NOW SHE'S BACK WITH FLOWERS AND A CAKE.
Twenty years ago, my husband Josh died in a car accident, leaving me with our newborn daughter, Laurel. At the time, we lived with my MIL, Margaret. I thought she'd support us, but instead, she threw my suitcase at me and sneered, "This is not a charity. And that baby? She's not even Josh's. GET OUT!"
Laurel and I struggled, but we built a life together. Fast forward to her 20th birthday. We kept it simple — just me, Laurel, and her boyfriend Jake. I'd baked her favorite cake, and we were laughing when there was a knock at the door.
Standing there was Margaret, all smiles, holding flowers and a cake. "My precious granddaughter!" she gushed, rushing past me. "You're my spitting image."
Laurel froze, and I couldn't hold back. "You abandoned us, Margaret! You called Laurel a bastard and kicked us out. Why are you here?"
Margaret sighed dramatically. "Well, dear, I'm not here to explain and waste my time. I NEED something from Laurel." ⬇️
