Somewhere there lies your field of dreams tinged as yellow as the sun. And even though you can’t see it now, one day you might stumble across it.
An excerpt from Chapter 3 of Build Like A Woman about "Vision" and imagining your future.
Afternoon walk
One of the easiest ways to feel better - whether you're uninspired, stuck, anxious, lethargic, frustrated, annoyed, confused - is to go for a walk.
Can you carve out time in your day today for a walk break? Bonus points if you don't allow yourself to feel the least bit guilty about it.
A reminder from author Caroline Myss that immense gratitude, for everything in your life, is what allows you to be receptive. ✨

What motivates you?
What are some of the innate brand-building skills and superpowers you (and other women) entrepreneurs have? What motivates YOU?
"You are the sum of your habits" can sound super overwhelming, especially if you have some that you want to break. The inspiring, reaffirming, calming part of it is that you CAN change your habits. Today. Right now. Start by just doing the first right thing - Brushing your teeth, going on a walk, meditating for 5 minutes, sending an email, paying that pesky bill, drinking water.
Slowly but surely, your habits change, you change, and your world will reflect it.
And that's the tea...
While you have real headwinds as a female founder, tailwinds are also in your favor. Brands born by women that embody those feminine traits like openness, relevance, empathy, fairness, inclusivity, persuasiveness, transparency, authenticity, commitment, and emotion have 4 to 10 percent higher revenue, and those that make an impact on our well-being and have functional benefits outperform the stock market by 206 percent.
Women are uber equipped to start businesses!! That's what BUILD is all about. Showing you that you can do it, and teaching you how, step-by-step.

Dare to Daydream
With the Hard Hat Golden Tool from Build Like A Woman, you can step out of the expected. Explore. Anytime.
Hell, 11 a.m. on a Monday, take a hike under the furious red-oranges of a winter sky. Eat at a restaurant where the owner longingly talks about the origins of her spun-clay-pottery place settings. Peruse a Georgia O’Keeffe exhibit, the simplified dresses with white trim she designed while painting stark desert landscapes. Drive “aimlessly” for a half hour before work, blasting country music and daydreaming (don’t forget the road!). Or embark on a remote, solo “think retreat.”
Just the other day, the GM of my company told me she’d rather go for a walk outside than return to the office to just think. To get out into the world, you’ll need to give yourself permission to be unrealistic, unavailable, and unproductive.
So... it’s time to reboot with these 3 anchor habits.
Sixty minutes in the morning for optimal priming. This is an appointment with yourself, as important as any business meeting.
1. Sweat (Exercise): The undisputed heavyweight champion of healthy habits. There are a gazillion health benefits to regular physical activity, but the most immediate for your day is that exercise ups motivation and confidence. Sweat the crap out. Wring it out. Get those yummy, feel-good endorphins firing. Some days this might mean intense cardio, others a light walk (with only a single sweat bead). Just move that bod!
2. Silence (Meditation, mindfulness, transcendental meditation and/or mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR)): The names vary, but fundamentally this is a time to get silent and still, follow your breath, escape racing thoughts, make contact with your
truth, and ultimately strengthen your mind. As you deepen your practice, you will be better able to manage stress, navigate difficult decisions, stay steady, and remain present, no matter what the day throws your way.
3. Sustenance (Nourishing foods): From the dictionary, sustenance means “food and drink regarded as a source of strength; nourishment.” It’s so true we are what we eat. Food can fight brain fog, poor mood, inflammation, pain, you name it, giving you more energy and vitality. So double down on whatever makes you feel better, like veggies, fruit, water, healthy fats, green juice, nutrients, and controlled portions. Avoid what makes you feel worse, like sugar, processed foods, and copious caffeine. This is not a diet, but a way of life. Check in with a nutritionist (there’s some great reading out there) before making any real lifestyle changes.
