Ironically, this supposed control gradually destroyed my sense of peace. Physically, I felt weaker and more distressed. Emotionally and mentally, I was digging myself into a darker, deeper hole. The anxiety I was desperately trying to mute only grew louder with every skipped meal.

Friends and family began to notice my thinning frame. Comments about my eating habits grew more frequent, only adding to my stress. Yet, acknowledging the harmful cycle I was caught in seemed impossible. It was my safety net, shabby as it was.

The Turning Point

The pivotal moment came after a particularly harrowing experience with dizziness and fainting at school.

With encouragement from a trusted teacher who noticed my plight, I started talking to a counselor. It was a terrifying but crucial first step. Admitting I had a problem didn’t mean I was losing control; in fact, it was the beginning of reclaiming it in a far healthier way.

Building a New Path

In therapy, I learned about anxiety and its profound impact on my body and mind. I discovered healthier ways to manage it, from mindfulness techniques to journaling and progressive muscle relaxation. Slowly, I rebuilt my relationship with food, relearning to view it as nourishment and not an enemy.

Emotions play a major role in our lives and have an impact on our attitudes, actions, and social relationships. Children can be empowered to express themselves effectively, form healthy relationships, and successfully manage the intricacies of the world around them by being taught about their feelings and emotions.
The ability to develop emotional intelligence is one of the main benefits of teaching kids about their feelings. The capacity to understand, regulate, and control one's own emotions as well as those of others is known as emotional intelligence. We assist kids develop this important talent, which is necessary for success in many areas of life, by teaching them about their feelings. Kids with high levels of emotional intelligence are better able to control their emotions, find solutions to difficulties, and form close bonds with others.
