Season’s Greetings,

Snake Canyon has taken some time off after the loss of our brother and bassist Vance Garcia, and we have all started working on different musical projects since Vance's memorial show last year, but we will be reuniting to play a gig on Friday, December 13th at Lucky 13 Saloon in Brooklyn to celebrate the release of our third album “All Fall Down.”

We’d like to thank A.J. Tissian for helping record, mix, and master the album, and Lou Campagna for creating the cover art. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Please give it a listen!!!

We look forward to seeing our friends and family at our record release party. AJ and Grace’s band Precious Blood will be playing; as will Joe's current project, Sabbath Warlock. Local psych merchants Indigo Fuzz will start things off, and Witchforce, Tommy Von Voigt's band that includes several regular members of F*Bomb, will also be there celebrating their single release. Danny Martinez will be sitting in on bass with Snake Canyon as we play some of the songs off our new record as well as some of our classic cuts.

Vance completed work on this album shortly before he went into the hospital and it stands as a lasting testament to his amazing musicianship, love for what we did as a band, and his place in all our hearts.

Long time friend and patron of the studio, artist Sara Cwynar's new gallery show, "Baby Blue Benzo", is opening this friday, 6pm at @ 52 Walker gallery in Tribeca.

Her show will run from 10/4 - 12/21 and it is highly recommend going to check it out as her work is fantastic!!

Sara wrote, produced and directed a short film, "Baby Blue Benzo" that will be featured in her show.

Looooong term friend and patron of the studio, the great multimedia artist Pieter Schoolwerth's new show "Supporting Actor", opens tonight at Petzel Gallery in Chelsea.

Pieter's work is amazing and his new show features a film that we have spent the last few days here in the studio doing some light sound design for and then we mixed and mastered the soundtrack/score.

The soundtrack is produced and performed by Aaron Dilloway who is an American experimental musician, both improvisor and composer. Aaron is a founding member of the industrial noise group Wolf Eyes (1998-2005) and now runs Hanson Records.

The video is produced by Phil Vanderhyden. Vanderhyden’s work, spanning paintings, videos, and curatorial projects, has been featured in Art in America, Artforum, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times, among others. His current work consists primarily of large-scale, animated wall works and theatrical performances using special effects software and proprietary CG code.

We are very pleased to announce that dear friend of the studio, Sam Zimmerman has produced a new soundtrack for the visionary claymation artist Bruce Bickford's (1947-2019) 1988 masterpiece short film, "Prometheus' Garden".

Sam, along with Mr. Bickford's estate worked with 28 artists to create the reimagined score, including members of Osees, Sonic Youth, Bauhaus, The Residents, TV On The Radio, Psychic TV, Lightning Bolt, Voivod, Battles, Cop Shoot Cop, WHITE HILLS, cumgirl8, Ecstatic Vision, UNSANE and Her Space Holiday, along with experimental composers like JG Thirwell (Foetus), Bradford Reed, Corset Lore, MV Carbon and Victoria Keddie.

We're pleased to announce that the updated film will premiere at the Chicago Underground Film Festival (cuff.org) on September 13. Screenings in NYC, SF and LA are in the works as well!
