I just got home from seeing the movie Cabrini, an Angel Studios Production.
It opened today in honor of Women's International Week. https://lnkd.in/exD8N3ap.
Seeing what this Italian immigrant nun did through her leadership for the poor, sick, and hungry children and adults is awe-inspiring. Her leadership strengths, to name a few, include perseverance, determination, influence, empathy, and inspiration; her self-management was extraordinary in the face of devastating events and vicious jabs. Her values and belief in social justice and equity fired her mission, service, and compassion.
I couldn't help but compare this wave of Italian immigrants to some of what is happening to immigrants today. Called guinea, w*p, d**o and denied bank loans, equal compensation, and forced to live in the shadows of impoverished neighborhoods,
And I'd like to know if there will ever be a time when we can have true equity. Humans seem to have an innate desire to "one up" and, even worse.
discriminate against a less fortunate group-the desire to be better than
others supersedes the message to love one another.
Returning to Cabrini she was an entrepreneur who changed the lives of many across the globe. Go see it!
