My mom, God rest her soul, died pretty suddenly. So, my daughter and I ended up at the lawyer's office after mom's funeral.

It turned out my mom didn't leave me a cent — everything went to my daughter. I was in shock, to put it mildly — my situation was really tough.

"Are you serious?" I glared at the lawyer. "I'm her son."

"Well," the lawyer replied, "I told you what was written in the will, sir. Everything belongs to your daughter, Beth, now."

I turned to Beth. "I think it would be right to just transfer everything to my name. Or at least split it, right?"

"Hmm, let me think of it... no!" She said strictly. "If Grandma wanted you to have something, she would have mentioned it in the will. You'll get nothing."

I was literally shocked. "Gosh, Beth... is that what your grandmother taught you? That's how you talk to your dad?"

At this point, she lost her cool. "Excuse me?! Oh, you think it was rude, huh? No, but this would be now. GET OUT! Leave before I call the cops and report you!"

I left — furious and poor. Jesus, the worst part is that it took me years to realize my daughter was totally right.

I ASKED MY HUSBAND TO LEAVE MY BIRTHDAY PARTY AFTER WHAT HE SAID TO MY PARENTS – HE CAME BACK TO SPOIL PARTY BUT REGRETTED IT

At some point during my birthday party, my husband and my dad got into a stupid argument about the fact that my parents gave me just a camera for my 30th birthday.

I never expected expensive gifts from my parents; we always gave each other symbolic things. It was weird that my husband was more upset about what MY parents gave ME than I was.
The quarrel ended with my husband calling my parents MISER! I couldn’t stand it and asked him to leave the party.

What happened next almost knocked me over. My husband came back to the party, clearly to ruin it, but he had no idea he would regret it in just 10 minutes!

For years, I barely called my mom. I was busy working on Wall Street, so those calls became few and far between. Honestly, they almost stopped altogether.

I moved into the abandoned house as soon as I received the keys. It was better than I imagined it. You see, my dad had bought it for a decent price, but after marrying, they moved into the big mansion.

It still stung: my parents didn't think I was good enough to get it — my sister Hazel was. Am I not good enough to receive a fair split of this? Anyway, it didn't matter anymore...

It would take thousands of dollars worth of repairs to make the place livable again! So, I decided to learn how to do it myself. I mean, how hard could it be?

It was harder than ANYTHING! 2 weeks later, I only finished the kitchen. I walked around, seeing how much work was left. The bedrooms needed new paint certainly. And the floor. Wait a minute...

It was the first time I saw that strange protrusion in the corner. So, I bent down and touched it. Surprisingly, my hand went through the floor. "Yuck! It's rotten!" I said out loud. But then I realized there was a strange hollowness.

I got my phone. With its flashlight, I took a better look and saw… stairs leading into the darkness. What is that?!

I destroyed all the crumbling parts of the floor with a hammer and started going down the stairs.
From what I could tell, it was just a regular room, only with this "beautiful" smell of mold and rot.

Except… there was a desk in the middle, littered with papers and an old-fashioned typewriter. Spooky, but… interesting.
When I shone a light on it, I turned pale. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! IS THIS WHY DAD LEFT THE HOUSE TO ME?! JESUS, THIS IS WHAT HIS LAST WORDS WERE ABOUT! 😨

MY HUSBAND SENT ME AND OUR KIDS TO A HOSTEL AND BOOKED A LUXURY HOTEL FOR HIMSELF AND HIS MOM — HE REGRETTED IT THE NEXT MORNING.

We were all so pumped to get away from the city for a week — me, Steve, the kids, and Steve's mom. Steve's always bragging about how he knows the best spots, so I let him take the lead and handle all the travel stuff.

So, we get there, and Steve drops me and the kids at this super tiny hostel on the edge of town. And then he drops this bombshell: "MOM NEEDS HER COMFORT. She can't deal with the noise from the kids. I need to take care of her, so I'll be staying with her at the luxury adult-only hotel in town so she can relax. We'll catch up with you tomorrow."

Before I could even react, they left, sticking me and the kids there. I was FUMING but played it cool to keep the kids calm, got them settled, and made a simple dinner.

I WOKE UP TO FIND MY LATE FATHER’S OLD TRAILER IN MY BACKYARD — I WAS SHOCKED BY WHO DID IT AND WHAT WAS INSIDE

Two years after my dad's death, I woke up to find his old trailer parked in my driveway. It was the same trailer we always used for family vacations, a symbol of our family.

I have never felt this kind of humiliation before. For the first time in my life, I had a seat in business class, and I didn't feel comfortable because I stood out with my poor looks. I had been saving up for this ticket for years, not knowing what was in store for me. As I took my seat, the man next to me pointed his finger and shouted so that the flight attendant could hear: "What is this?"

The stewardess asked for my ticket and, having checked all the data, said: "This passenger took a seat according to the ticket she paid for."

But the man didn't accept her answer and shouted: "I don't know what's on her ticket, but I bought a seat in business class to get away from people like her. Now it just feels like I'm in a cheap alley with homeless people."

I was ready to cry. But things got worse when other passengers supported this arrogant man. Some refused to take their seats until I was out of business class.

I couldn't take it anymore and was about to leave, but I was so confused that I tripped and fell. My bag fell, and all its contents spilled out, including a small photo.
