It is with deep sadness that I make this post. On behalf of the management and members of Blacksand, we extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of this Radio icon and former Counsel General to SVG in Canada.
We recollect our sojourn in the 90’s with the ‘On Tour’ Calypso tent when we toured the length and breadth of SVG.
We hold dear the wonderful memories working alongside EB and the team, in making the tent the tremendous success that it was. Blacksand would play for hours backing up the calypsonians and then play for hours in the after party !!! We had some times!!
EB was always side stage, watching and making sure things were in order, as well as being the MC of course! He became so involved that he had to make his own calypso ‘Hand Bag’ which the band arranged and produced.
We will never forget you EB. You played a part in molding our band and in the development of our culture over the many years, as you tirelessly hosted so many of the Carnival shows in the 80s and 90s and, setting the highest of standards in broadcasting with your tenure at the National Broadcasting Corporation.
Please let us begin as a country, to document the history of our nation builders, so that future generations would know and be able to build on the foundations that were set by the likes of our dear friend EB John.
Again, on behalf of the band we thank you for your tremendous national service and may your soul Rest In Peace 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
