This was my boy Chase, who I lost a few weeks ago, and have been devastated since. I wrote a Poem for Dog Lovers, that I'd like to share if allowed... It's called Shrapnel.
Shrapnel
I knew this route, I’ve been here before,
Not once or twice, but so many more,
The ups and downs measured every at every turn;
And at the end of the road my choice I spurn.
It was not disarming, no ringing in my ears,
It was quite peaceful, -I think, with so many tears.
You lent me your paw as you were fading away,
Trying to hold back the pain & sorrow, I claimed to be “okay.”
I didn’t mean to lie; you know that of me,
But I couldn’t believe I had to set you free.
The silence is deafening, your nails clicking on the floor,
The alert of your bark, when someone’s approaching the door,
Your absence is present that’s perfectly clear,
Minute by painful minute, tear by abundant tear.
It used to be loud, healthy, and strong,
But the recent events proves that all wrong!
The jagged million pieces digging into my chest when I weep,
Began the moment I had to decide when to put you to sleep.

On Christmas Morning we surprised our kids with our forever dream dog, a little Golden Girl. She was healthy and active, and amazing. We fell in love so hard and fast. She was a Sanders through and through. This morning, she was playing as puppies do, and all of sudden yelped and literally fell over dead right in front of my 10 year old daughter. We scooped her up and ran her to the vet where she was pronounced Dead. We are so heartbroken. She had no broken bones, no blood, nothing in her airway, (that they could tell from observation). No masses in her abdomen, nothing wrong with her. She just died. The vet said it was most likely a cardiac arrest. She was playing and fine, and then she died. This is our first Golden, our dream dog. We are devastated. The Breeder is going to give us a free pup, but it's hard to imagine any dog replacing her. She was the best pup in the world, and we only had her 9 days. Is this common? I just joined these pages last night and now seeing all the photos is killing me. Her name was Maddie. She will forever be in our hearts.

Hello everyone!
Does anyone have any experience with their dog having a parathyroid tumor that needs to be removed? I just found out today that is what my 6 year old golden has and have been researching the surgery! If you have experienced it, how much did the surgery cost you and does anyone have any recommendations on where to go? I live in Upstate NY but willing to travel for good prices and surgery 🦮💙
