I’ve been out exploring Colorado and had plans on visiting Mesa Verde National Park. But on the morning of our tour, an alert came through that the majority of the park had been closed.
Moments like this are a stark reminder that our parks and public lands aren’t just postcard views, they’re living, breathing spaces cared for by real people. Behind every open trail and cleared road are park rangers, emergency personnel, EMT pilots, maintenance crews, and countless others who keep these places safe and accessible.
When the gov use people’s livelihoods for their political games and interests, it’s not just a closure sign on a gate. It ripples out — to the people who work here, to the towns that depend on this tourism, and to everyone who finds their joy, peace, and connection in these wild places.
This is why staying informed and speaking up matters. These lands belong to all of us, and their future depends on us paying attention. 🌿✨
