His journey began as a rapper and DJ at John Jay College's WJJC radio station, where his passion for music ignited. A breakthrough moment came when he landed a gig as the house DJ at Laff's, a renowned nightclub. Here, he forged a powerful connection with promoter Russell Simmons, who soon took Woodley under his wing.
Under Simmons' guidance, Woodley recorded the rap rendition of "Another One Bites the Dust" and began performing alongside DJ RUN at local shows. However, Woodley's true love lay behind the turntables. He shifted his focus back to the nightlife scene, spinning records at iconic venues like Justine's, Leviticus, Pegasus, Xenon, and Magique. His deep understanding of hip-hop, cultivated in the Bronx during its genesis, allowed him to embrace and elevate the genre, ultimately establishing Bentley's as the premier club in New York for R&B and hip-hop.
As one of the city’s foremost DJs, Woodley was the first to introduce and champion tracks like Run DMC's "Rock Box," Keith Sweat's "I Want Her," and Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam's "Take You Home." He recalls the days when his friend Larry Blackman would sit in the DJ booth crafting hits like "Attack Me With Your Love" and "Single Life."
The success of Bentley's opened doors to countless nightclub ventures, where Woodley continued to build relationships with rising artists and industry legends. As entertainment director for iconic venues such as Union Square, The Red Parrot, and The Copacabana, he booked debut performances for stars like Salt-N-Pepa, DJ Jazzy Jeff & Will Smith, and En Vogue. His keen ear for hits earned him roles as a Billboard reporter and music consultant for radio stations like WKTU and 98.7 KISS FM, where he became the first DJ in New York to host a live mix show.
His reputation as a talent scout caught the attention of CBS music executive Cecil Holmes, leading Woodley to Columbia Records in 1985. There, he played a crucial role in developing a stellar pop and urban roster, producing multi-platinum albums for New Kids on the Block, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, and Earth, Wind & Fire. He also discovered and signed Raze, releasing the dance classic "Break for Love."
During his tenure, Woodley bridged the gap between Columbia and Def Jam, serving as a vital liaison for iconic artists like LL Cool J and Public Enemy. His influence extended further when he facilitated the acquisition of Ruffhouse Records, nurturing the careers of Jermaine Dupri and The Fugees.
In 1990, Woodley was recruited by Sylvia Rhone to lead A&R at Atlantic Records. Over five transformative years, he signed platinum acts like I.N.T.R.O. and M.C. Lyte, the latter becoming the first female rapper to achieve a certified gold single with "Ruffneck." His keen eye for talent was undeniable, yet he faced frustrating challenges in the bureaucratic structure of the label.
Two missed opportunities haunt him: Jay-Z and Maxwell, both artists he recognized as groundbreaking yet could not sign due to limitations in his role. These experiences, while painful, fueled Woodley’s relentless pursuit of talent.
Returning to his DJ roots, he became the resident DJ at The Shadow nightclub, solidifying his place in New York nightlife history. There, he also launched a weekly mix-show that captured the essence of the city’s vibrant scene.
Throughout his extraordinary career, Kevin "Sugar Daddy" Woodley has maintained an unyielding connection to the pulse of New York's entertainment landscape. He credits his success to divine inspiration and the mentorship of industry titans like Cecil Holmes and Tony Grey.

Mike Moore, A Detroit, Michigan native, is a retired professional wrestler whose electrifying performances earned him the titles "Motor City Madman" and "Man Mountain Mike Moore." Standing tall at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 320 pounds, Moore dominated the wrestling scene of the late '80s and early '90s, leaving an indelible mark on fans and fellow wrestlers alike.
After stints with the WWF, AWA, LIW, Moore's wrestling career ignited in 1982, but it was in 1987 that he truly exploded onto the scene as part of the tag team "Motor City Madmen," managed by the legendary Paul Heyman, also known as Paul E. Dangerously. During his time in World Championship Wrestling (WCW), he faced off against some of the sport's biggest names. His notable performances included teaming with Curtis Hughes at Starrcade 1990 to take on The Skyscrapers and engaging in a fierce showdown with Lex Luger at Clash of the Champions XIII: Thanksgiving Thunder. In 1991, his prowess in the ring earned him a spot on Pro Wrestling Illustrated's prestigious PWI 500, where he ranked #296—a testament to his impact and skill.
After retiring from wrestling in 1993, Moore transitioned seamlessly into the film and television industry, becoming a member of the Screen Actors Guild. He showcased his versatility in commercials for major brands like Pepsi and Chevrolet, along with television shows As the World Turns and Another World. His final film, Men vs. Women, for Showtime, highlighted his dynamic range beyond the ring.

"Let Me Love You" reached #33 on the smooth jazz charts and rose to #5 on the Urban charts and rose to #1 on the Black Planet Radio chart in Italy. Sleigh Riderose to #6 on the smooth jazz Holiday Chart. Castella's work on "Let Me Love You" garnered her nominations for the"President's Award","New Comer of the Year"and"Best Female Artist of 2020"as well as being named "Artist of the Year" by the Central Standard Time Show on stlsmoothjazz.com. and she has the hardware to show it! Ever true to her work and trusting her heart, Castella decided to reach back into her pocket and release her tune Mojito from her debut EP. A very special record to Castella and her team where her mentor, multi-platinum, Grammy Award winning producer Darryl Swann contributed with writing on the tune as well as mixing and mastering the tune, in fact all of her tunes. On the same day she released her single “So Into You” a remake of the 70’s classic by the Atlanta Rhythm Section with an exciting radio campaign spear headed by Gorov Music Marketing in the US and Gary Van den Bussche in the UK. “So Into You” has already made a big splash by hitting #1 on the UK Soul Breakers Chart on January 3, 2022. Castella’s new EP includes three previously released original tunes (Let Me Love You, So Glad I Met You and the Central Standard Time Show Groove) and two of Castella’s favorite tunes that she chose to remake, “So Into You” and “My Funny Valentine.” The remakes are a window into who Castella is as an artist! So Into You has remained on the Smooth Jazz Top 100 Charts for over 17 weeks, peaking at #31 on the Smooth Jazz Global chart and $39 on the Smooth Jazz Network Chart. Additionally, So Into You was loved in Canada! Reaching #1 on several charts including TeeRex Radio, Axcit Radio and 94.7 the Wave where it spent 3 weeks at #1. The song reached #1 on Black Planet Radio in Italy and stayed there for 2 weeks. And in the UK, So Into You reached #1 on Jazz Juice Radio! The song reached #1 on Cruz Inc and garnered Castella many “artist of the week” and “artist of the month” accolades. Castella also had a variety of articles written about her take on the song and some said she did better than the original. Absolutely mind blowing! Castella loves music of all genres and the remakes are just a small piece! Castella continues to work on new music having released two singles in 2023 - “I Saw You featuring Marqueal Jordan” and Intoxicated Love which remained on the charts for several months. In fact, “Intoxicated Love” was SONG OF THE YEAR on Black Planet Radio - Italy and on Cool Jazz Week! Castella also won her first Indie Soul Award for Jazz Single of the Year for “I Saw You.” Amazing honors for the singer! She continues to explore opportunities with a variety of different producers who have faith in her ability and choose to place her on their projects.
