I made the Levain Bakery NYC cookies today and I must say we’re a fan! I followed the recipe exactly to see if there was anything I wanted to change if I made them again. If you’re looking to try them these were really good. I made my dough 5oz each and baked for about 10 minutes at 410 degrees. I cooked right after mixing, no chill time. I used the recipe from Modern Honey.

Festive Christmas Wreath Cake: A Showstopper for the Holidays 🎄🍰✨

Ingredients:

For the Cake:

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 🌾
2 tsp baking powder 🍞
1/2 tsp baking soda 🍞
1/2 tsp salt 🧂
1 cup unsalted butter (softened) 🧈
2 cups granulated sugar 🍚
4 large eggs 🥚
1 tsp vanilla extract 🍦
1 cup whole milk 🥛
1/2 cup sour cream 🍶
For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

1 cup unsalted butter (softened) 🧈
8 oz cream cheese (softened) 🧀
4 cups powdered sugar 🍚
2 tsp vanilla extract 🍦
1-2 tbsp heavy cream (as needed for consistency) 🥛
A pinch of salt 🧂
For the Decorations:

Green food coloring 🟢
Red and green sprinkles 🌟
Marzipan or fondant holly leaves 🍃
Mini candy canes 🍬
Edible glitter or gold dust (optional) ✨
Star-shaped sprinkles (optional) ⭐
Instructions:
Prepare the Cake:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a bundt pan or two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk and sour cream, mixing until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared pans, filling each about 2/3 full.
Bake for 25-30 minutes (or 35-40 minutes for a bundt cake) or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Make the Cream Cheese Frosting:

In a large bowl, beat the butter and cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
Gradually add the powdered sugar and beat until the frosting is light and fluffy.
Add the vanilla extract, pinch of salt, and heavy cream to reach your desired frosting consistency (more cream for a softer frosting).
Mix in green food coloring until you achieve a festive green shade.
Assemble the Cake:

If you used round cake pans, layer the cakes on top of each other. For a bundt cake, simply place it on a platter.
Frost the top and sides of the cake with the green cream cheese frosting, smoothing it out evenly.
Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to create a slight texture, mimicking the look of a wreath.
Decorate the Wreath:

Sprinkle the cake with red and green sprinkles to resemble holly berries.
Add marzipan or fondant holly leaves around the edges of the cake.
Decorate with mini candy canes to create a traditional wreath feel.
Optionally, dust the cake with edible glitter or gold dust to add a magical touch.
