This holiday ad from Chevrolet, in collaboration from Alzheimers Association, gets to my heart strings every time. It feels more like a great storytelling than ad. It's a great opportunity for Chevrolet to emotionally connect with us without disruptive ads or entertainment.
Who can't relate to the debilitating disease of dementia and Alzheimer's, that affects an estimated 6.7 million Americans ages 65 and older, and how it challenges and deeply impacts long built relationships. It becomes especially difficult during special family gatherings like Christmas and holidays.
I love how Chevrolet tells this story at the sweet spot of this family gathering, draws us into something we're all so familiar with and uses John Denver's song, "Sunshine On My Shoulder". Perfect ex*****on of Brand Storytelling to connect our hearts with the brand. And when you can get an audience to laugh and/or cry, you've won. It seems they've done both.
What kind of brand storytelling are you using to connect audiences to your brand?
