Taking on bigger issues is a start, but more importantly - real action has to follow, and are they taking on the right issues? Brands were more likely to succeed when they picked issues that fitted closely with their products or customers and when they took concrete action to support those causes, said Chris Allieri, founder of Mulberry & Astor, a PR consultancy. “These things cannot be just statements from CEOs. They have to be followed up with actual programmes and commitments. If they are going to take a stand on an issue, they have to make an investment along those lines.”
