This year brought an unforgettable full-circle moment: partnering with Paper to carry the MyKume Journal. Back in 2017, I was shopping here for inspiration. Fast forward to 2024, and seeing Kume on their shelves feels surreal—a blessing and a reminder of how far we’ve come.

We’re endlessly thankful for this milestone and for the support that made it happen.

Where should the MyKume Journal go next? Comment and tag your favorite shops—we’d love to bring Kume to a store near you. 🌟

This year, I could count the many ways 2024 was unkind—to me and to so many others. But I could also count the ways it grounded me, leading me toward ease in my body, mind, and spirit.

I’m excited for 2025. For the growth I’ll nurture in my relationships, business, and my life. With a strong foundation—rooted in who I am and who I choose to be—I step into the new year with clarity and purpose.

Maybe this year was one of breakthroughs and joy, or maybe it brought unexpected detours. Perhaps it marked the beginning of something new, where seeds you’ve planted are just starting to sprout.

Whatever 2024 held, 2025 is ours to claim. Everything we need to make it extraordinary is already within us.

A few years ago, I sat in my therapist’s office, frustrated by all the ways I felt I wasn’t measuring up. I listed the goals I hadn’t reached, the plans that felt like they’d stalled. My therapist listened quietly, then said something that shifted how I see progress:

“You’re not trying. You’re doing it.”

At the time, progress, I thought, had to look like grand, measurable success. But over time, I began to realize that progress often looks much quieter—small, intentional steps that eventually add up to something meaningful.

This time of year, I find myself returning to that conversation. Many of us start the year with resolutions, hopes for who we want to become or what we want to create. But when December arrives, it’s easy to feel like we’ve fallen short—like we’re just trying and not quite doing.

Here’s what I’ve learned: putting your resolution out into the world was already a step.

Earlier this week, I revisited my own intentions from January. At first, I saw what I hadn’t accomplished—the unfinished tasks, the unrealized goals. But then I started to notice the quiet progress I had overlooked.

The goal to “grow the Kume community” initially meant aiming for a specific number of followers. But instead of chasing metrics, I leaned into something deeper. Hosting quarterly journaling workshops taught me so much—not just about sharing the gift of journaling but also about creating space for connection and learning from others.

The dream of launching a new product didn’t result in a finished project, but it became countless small steps of planning, learning, and refining.

None of these looked like the grand “success” I had imagined. But every step, no matter how small, brought me closer to where I wanted to be.

“Doing it” can look different for each of us. So as the year ends, take a moment to reflect. Look back on your resolutions—not with judgment, but with curiosity. What small steps did you take? What intentions did you honor? You might be surprised by the progress you didn’t even realize you were making.

If you’d like to reflect further, join us this Sunday, December 8th, at 4 p.m. for our end-of-the-year journaling workshop at .

Last weekend, after a nightcap at the Highlight Room, my friend caught this shot while we waited for our Uber. At the time, it was just a cool photo—a glowing tunnel in an alley at night. But looking at it now, it feels like so much more.

It’s a bit like this past year. Moving through it has felt a lot like walking through a tunnel. Some stretches were dark and heavy, where everything felt like it was closing in. Other times, there was light—just enough to keep me going, pulling me toward something better. I didn’t always know where I was headed, but I kept walking anyway.

That’s the energy I want to bring to the journaling workshop I’m hosting on December 8th at . It’s about being in this in-between space—the end of one year, the start of another—and really looking around, taking stock of the lessons, the meaningful moments, and the quiet beauty we might’ve missed.

We’ll ground ourselves with movement, write our way through the weight of old beliefs, and let go of the stories that no longer serve us. Together, we’ll step into that light at the end of the tunnel—refreshed, ready, and grounded in what’s next.

If this sounds like your vibe, join us. It’ll be an afternoon of reflection, connection, and cozy, heartfelt moments. Because sometimes the best way to move forward is to pause, breathe, and really feel where you are.
