I've watched CBS Sunday Morning since Charles Kuralt hosted. Charles Osgood was the perfect successor. Once, back in the '90s, a friend employed at CBS invited to Charles' annual Christmas party in NJ. His 3-story home in a cul de sac was lit up with decorations and looked like an outsized gingerbread house. The highlight of the night was when he sat down at a piano and we all joined in singing Christmas carols. One of the most memorable holiday moments in my life. See you on the radio.

Osgood, who anchored CBS Sunday Morning for more than two decades and hosted the long-running radio program The Osgood File, died Tuesday home in New Jersey. The cause was dementia, his family said.
