Screen time boundaries almost always create big emotions for my toddlers. At Rivers age, my solution is usually a series of redirection and distraction. I also like to take any moment I can to model and teach communication skills, sometimes that helps with the distraction.

Homemade whole wheat waffles for us this morning, they always seem to be a big hit. I usually make syrup to go with but we were running a little late today. Jazlynn jumped on the griddle to help me out while I helped the younger ones get ready for school 🥹❤️

With two toddler boys so close in age, there’s lots of bickering, whining, and fighting. Sometimes it gets really draining, but I have found that it’s so worth it to take the time and teach them how to work through conflict and be a good team 💚🩵

River, my 18 month old, has been going through a phase where he just refuses to eat anything, and every meal has been a fight! It has been so stressful and discouraging 😩
But if I don’t make sure he gets at least some food in his belly, he gets very hangry and does not want to do anything.
This is one of those situations where Mama knows best, and I have to firmly, but still lovingly, set boundaries.
So I take him to my bedroom where it’s quiet, we’re alone, and there are no distractions, and I help him eat one bite at a time. Giving him something to look forward to when we’re done helps encourage him to keep going ❤️

It’s not easy, but it’s worth it! Here we are a couple days later (since this was filmed) and he’s eating just like normal again! 🙌🏻
Consistency is key 🫶

So, y’all know by now I’m a total routine mom! Now that it’s summer, we’ve all got to stick to a routine to keep our sanity. 😅 While we tweak things occasionally, our days mostly follow a similar schedule.

Because my kids know what to expect and when, they’re happier throughout the day. And when they’re happy, I’m happy too! 😎😏

We are finally saying goodbye to River’s binky 😭🥹 it’s a very bittersweet moment because it means he’s growing up, and he’s no longer a baby anymore 💙

But I wanted this experience to be a happy moment for him, so I kept everything positive, while drawing attention to the things that he DOES get to have rather than focusing on what he DOESN’T get to have anymore.

It feels so good to be back home in my happy place!! 🤗 Although, the trip to Europe without kids WAS incredible! And I feel so much better after taking a break and resting 😴😌
Now I have so much more energy and motivation and patience!! Good thing too, because we’re starting the packing up to move process!!!
