While preparing for road construction in northern Israel, archaeologists recently found a 3,300-year-old Canaanite teapot shaped like a ram. Likely used to make ritual offerings during the Late Bronze Age, this vessel would have held prized liquids like milk, oil, or wine that was then poured through the mouth-shaped spout and into smaller cups to leave behind as votive gifts to the gods. Alongside other astonishing artifacts like a dollhouse-sized temple figurine and a 5,000-year-old winepress, this teapot was uncovered among the ruins of the ancient city of Armageddon. Made famous in the Book of Revelation as the site of the apocalyptic war between God and his enemies during the end times, Armageddon is indeed believed to be inspired by the eponymous site of this new teapot discovery.

In recent years, archaeologists have unearthed a staggering amount of ancient artifacts made of gold in one tiny village in central Denmark known as Boeslunde. And when researchers recently ventured there yet again in order to figure out why it's home to so much gold, they didn't find the answer — but they did find more gold.⁠

Archaeologists were shocked to unearth a pair of 2,800-year-old lances with gold plating, unlike any Bronze Age weapons ever found in Europe. Measuring four feet long, these unique relics were also somehow made of iron, even though the Iron Age wouldn't begin here for another few centuries.
