A Riveting Requel: Monster Force Makes a Monstrous Return!
AHOY, fellow cinephiles and connoisseurs of camp! The Offering, ever the intrepid explorer of the Universal Monster milieu (emphasis on the lesser-known entries), delved into the, shall we say, middling Hugh Jackman vehicle "Van Helsing" this past season.
In a previous escapade, we alluded to the short-lived and frankly forgettable cartoon and toyline "Monster Force." Well, prepare to have your monocle pop โ it seems the ghastly gang is experiencing a macabre resurrection, albeit aimed at the more discerning collector.
A delectable morsel for those of us who yearned for premium versions of the action figures we once clutched in our sticky child-hands, this new line caters to the adult aficionados of the monstrous. It's a testament to the enduring power of nostalgia, proving that even the most unremarkable entries in the annals of pop culture can claw their way back from the crypt.
The catch? No Frankensteinโs Monster or Dracula. Operation: MonsterForce will be based entirely new Monsters created for the line and upcoming cartoon. Why? As not to create brand confusion with Universalโs โDark Universeโ land at the Orlando theme park.
Let's just hope the upcoming 2025 Wolfman film fares better than, ahem, certain forgettable Universal offerings.
