Roy Demeo was not only the deadliest mobster in American history, he was also one of its worst serial killers. He didn’t just murder for money. He took pleasure in killing and he taught other disturbed young men to enjoy it too. Highly intelligent and methodical, Roy created a ritual known as The Gemini Method, and established the most feared hit crew in NYC at the time, known as The Murder Machine.

Murder Machine was highly sought by mob boss Paul Castellano and other criminals alike for their expertise in professional killing, but they increasingly became less and less controllable. Eventually even Capo John Gotti was too afraid to act directly against them. What horrified cops would discover would be out of a nightmare. This is Roy Demeo & Murder Machine Part 1: Becoming Evil.

This is not just a normal podcast. I have a BA in history, a MA in Criminal Justice, and used to be a popular tour guide. I am very familiar with these subjects and I analyze it from many different angles. I only choose the most dramatic and fascinating true crimes--ones I think most deserving of having a movie made about them.

I dramatize the events with voices in a realistic manner and am obsessive about getting the facts right using many different sources which I research obsessively. It is also played to a soundtrack.

I am almost finished with the first episode of my next story on The Darkness Underneath Podcast (episode 5 of the podcast itself).
Who was the deadliest serial killer in NYC history? Who was the most dangerous mob boss? The answer to both of them is the same.

Roy Demeo wasn't just a hitman but somebody who murdered even when he wasn't getting paid for it simply because he enjoyed the feeling it brought him. He was a highly intelligent and methodical monster who put together an entire crew of psychopathic serial killers called The Murder Machine.
Roy Demeo probably murdered more people than any other person in NYC history (not including Osama Bin Laden). How he has never had a movie made about him baffles me, especially when it was a thousand times more interesting than Goodfellas.

Roy Demeo & Murder Machine Part 1: Becoming Evil should be out within a few days. It will include incredibly rare photos and footage of spots and addresses where these macabre events happened.

I had to temporarily remove episode 4 of The Darkness Underneath Podcast, my favorite episode and the longest, which details what actually happened that led up to Harvey killing his passengers and sinking The Bluebelle, the fall of Harvey, and the legacy of The Bluebelle Murders (it led to major international changes). There are some sound issues. It will be up again this weekend. I am also rerecording episode 1 to improve the sound to the quality of the latter 3 episodes. After episode 4, in the future, I will be covering Roy Demeo & Murder Machine, as well as The Westies who killed for him.

Like with The Bluebelle Murders, I spoke online to a major participant, the mob associate and witness protection informant Dominick, who helped bring down Murder Machine (the ones left were gonna kill him.). He was nice but he said "sorry son, I can't help you." He has PTSD, probably partially from his involvement.

People think mass shootings are a modern invention but they go back quite a long time. The 1950s saw 3 particularly deadly mass shootings, two of which had numbers equal to today's Columbine.

These types of shootings, though committed by nihilistic and often clinical sociopaths eager for media attention, like Eric Harris. However, they often were not immediately suicidal and would try to escape for as long as possible, thus earning the additional name of spree killers.

This example, whom I might cover in a future podcast, was the inspiration of Natural Born Killers, a movie I always despised because it showed the killers getting away happy and hence made them seem more romanticized rather than pathetic. Ironically, the Columbine killers, who started the modern pattern of mass shootings in schools, cited NBK as an influence.

If true that would mean through butterfly effect and the media Starkweather was their influence, a man they never heard of who murdered just as many people as they did and often even more violently, who himself was influenced by a combination of Bonnie and Clyde and Rebel Without A Cause (that doesn't make the movie morally responsible just because some dipsh*t decides to live out aspects of it).
