I’ve seen the same topic come up in multiple groups including this one and I wanted to state a fact.

1️⃣ We as DJs have 2 jobs, to entertain and to serve the clients wishes to the best of our ability.

2️⃣ What makes a good DJ? The ability to engage, read and entertain the crowd, being original and knowing how to mix, knowing what to play next.

3️⃣ Using only Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music or any other programs that are similar as your main source to play music from does not make you a DJ. Other than being against their TOS, it is illegal, especially for club, weddings, etc (anything that’s not your own house party).

4️⃣ The client and their guests aren’t going to care about if you use the SYNC button or not. They aren’t going to care if you’re using a MacBook or a Windows Laptop. Theyre not going to know the difference between a Pioneer CDJ3000 and a Numark controller. And they’re definitely not going to know or care if you use pre recorded remixes vs live mixes. They just want a fun experience that is of good/great quality.

Let’s stop putting our fellow DJs down that don’t “fit” your definition or expectations as a DJ. Let’s help each other thrive by providing useful feedback, sharing knowledge and experiences.
