📌23 February was the first day of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge's visit to Copenhagen.
The Duchess visited the University of Copenhagen to meet researchers from the Copenhagen Infant Mental Health Project, which aims to improve mental well-being and the relationship between infants and their parents.
Academics have developed the Anxiety Scale for Distressed Children, an innovative screening tool that helps health care workers identify infants at risk for adverse social and emotional development.
Her Royal Highness met with the lead researchers behind the initiative and spoke with healthcare professionals who use these tools in their work.
Along with the screening tool, the scientists launched the Understanding Your Child research project, which provides further training for home visitors so they can help parents as they begin to notice and interpret their children's behavioral cues.
At the Children's Museum in Copenhagen, the Duchess met with several of the 1,300 young parents who have benefited from the project, which began in 2019 and ended in July.
After meeting two eight-month-old boys and their parents, Katherine said: “This meeting makes me want more children. William always worries when I meet children under one year old. I come home and say: “Let's get another one.”
The final activity of the day was a trip to the Lego Foundation play lab at University College Copenhagen, where Katherine joined the students preparing to become specialists in the field of early years.
Her Royal Highness met with the team leading a national student education program dedicated to helping children use play to develop life skills.
The Duchess was informed that in order to get down, some employees use a slide instead of stairs. She gave her bag to the assistant and said she should do the same.
The Duchess also said: “My children are very jealous that they will not visit the Lego Foundation Lab. They said: “Wait, there will be Lego, but we won’t go?”

📌Continuation of the visit of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge to Copenhagen.
Her Royal Highness met with Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary at Christian IX's Palace in Amalienborg. After the reception, the Crown Princess hosted a private dinner for the Duchess at Frederik VIII's palace in Amalienborg.
The Duchess and the Crown Princess then visited the Danner Crisis Centre, a crisis shelter for women, where a presentation was made of the Mary Foundation's work for the approximately 2,000 children who visit crisis shelters with their mothers each year. The center can accommodate 18 mothers and 18 children fleeing domestic violence at the same time, and on average they stay for four to five months.
Katherine and Mary met the women and children who now live in the orphanage built by the Countess Danner in the 18th century for needy women and children. Since 1980, the building has been used as a crisis shelter for victims of domestic violence.

📌ROYAL TOUR OF THE CARIBBEAN:

The Duke and Duchess are forced to cancel their first visit to the Caribbean after villagers stage a protest against 'colonialism'

The couple planned to visit the Akte'iL Ha cocoa farm in the foothills of the Mayan mountains, a prime example of sustainable agriculture. But the village of Indian Creek is in open conflict with Flora and Fauna International, the charity that owns the adjacent, contested property. William has been patron of the FFI since 2020, the latest in a series of royals starting with George VI.
