Prayer today, 6pm Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans
The Archdiocese of New Orleans will host the Interfaith Prayer Service for Our City today at 6 pm at St. Louis Cathedral. Archbishop Gregory Aymond along with clergy and members of Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, and other faiths will lead the congregation in prayer to pray for those that lost their lives and those that were injured in the New Yearโs Day attack and to pray for peace and hope in our city.
The event will include increased security. The security lines for the publicโs entrance will open at 4:30 pm at the corner of Chartres and St. Ann. Individuals are asked to limit the amount of personal items and bag size. Once one has entered the cathedral, he or she will be asked to remain seated and limit movement until it concludes. It is anticipated the service will be 60 minutes.
The service will be lived streamed at TheDailyMass.com and broadcast on WLAE-TV for those who cannot attend.
