In From the Storm Zine

In From the Storm Zine highlights Black female characters in comics and sci-fi. The fanzine is for and by Black women featuring original artwork, interviews and cultural criticism. These characters and their stories are for us and about us and our opinions about them matter. The name pays homage to the most mainstream Black woman in comics, Storm from the X-Men, but the name is also about finding refuge. In a world where Black women constantly deal with racism and sexism among other inequalities and acts of violence, I hope that this space can be a refuge and show that Black female opinions matter. In the wonderful world of comics, we can see the world how we want it to be. When we see these dynamic characters that reflect us, it gives us even more power, validation and hope.
