Unfortunately we are still dealing with flooding in Pender county and I am still working the emergency operations center nightly at work. I am sorry to report I will be off the air again tonight. I will also be off next week as I will be in Asheville at training. I am so sorry! I am SO ready to get back in the drivers seat on Beach Waves Radio!

Hey there folks! With big ol' Deborah approaching the Carolina coast, the Beach Waves Radio White Lake Studio has been hunkered down, secured, and prepped for potential flooding. With that being said, I will not be on the air tonight. I will, instead, be working with my day job at the Fire Marshal's Office. Be safe, stay off the roads, and if you HAVE to get out please remember TURN AROUND DON"T DROWN if you come up to flooded areas!

The awesome reason I was late getting on air tonight! I was honored to be a part of the recognition of a great student, a great instructor, and a great program!

Tonight we are thankful for the opportunity provided to us by the Pender County Board of Education to recognize two individuals for their outstanding service to our county.

On December 15, 2023 a call was placed to Pender County 911 in reference to a vehicle on fire. An Engine company from Pender EMS & Fire arrived on scene to find the fire extinguished. Due to the nature of the call, the Fire Marshals Office was requested. It was during this time it was discovered that the fire was extinguished by a family member.

Thanks to partnerships formed and fostered by Pender County Schools and their neighboring public safety agencies, a young lady learned and utilized important skills that mitigated a hazard that could have proved a great loss to property and life.
