The teaser opens with a stark, almost dystopian view of the world after the events of the first film. Bloodshot (Ray Garrison) is still reeling from the revelations that turned his life upside down. In the aftermath of his battles, the government and powerful corporations want him for different reasons some to harness his nanite technology, others to take him down.
As the teaser flashes quick cuts of high-speed chases, intense fight scenes, and explosions, we see Bloodshot once again battling not only enemies on the outside but also his own internal struggles. His nanite-infused body, which gave him unparalleled regeneration abilities, is no longer the perfect weapon it once was. Now, it seems the technology within him is starting to break down or evolve in ways that are both dangerous and unpredictable.
A voiceover reveals the central conflict of Bloodshot 2: "You were made for war, but now you’re something else." This statement is echoed by various glimpses of Bloodshot’s battles with both human and non-human threats, each more lethal and relentless than the last.
The trailer introduces Dr. Amelia Voss (Charlize Theron), a mysterious scientist who seems to hold the key to either saving Bloodshot from himself or turning him into something far worse. Her motives are unclear, but her involvement suggests that the quest to understand and control Bloodshot's nanites will drive much of the sequel's plot.
