“I’m just keeping the ball rolling, Robert Earl Keen-style,” Coby said. “I want more people to hear my songs, to connect with them, and to really feel something from them.”

A love of music was the inspiration for local musician Bruce Schwarz to start not just one, but two internet radio stations — Texas 46 Radio and The Rock Vault. 📻🎶

“It took a lot of work to get the stations up and running, and I did it all on my own,” shared Bruce. “It was scary the first time I flipped the switch and we went live… Once we got the mobile apps developed, that was a huge boost for us. Now, you can listen to the stations anywhere in the world.”

You can find this story and others like it in our July issue — online and on stands now.

Though the American flag was not the first to fly over New Braunfels, early residents were excited to join the Union on the very first Independence Day. They celebrated with shooting competitions, cannon fire, and flag raising — we now celebrate with fireworks and a Fourth of July parade.

The means of honoring the holiday have changed over the years, but one thing remains the same… this wouldn’t be the land of the free and the home of the brave without our veterans and first responders. We dedicated this issue to them. 🎆
