As expected, the game was never in doubt as the Unicorns (3-1 overall, 1-0 in district) took a 49-0 lead in the first half and did not punt the entire game. New Braunfels’ defense had three takeaways and held the Brahmas to under 100 yards of offense.

A group of local business professionals established the foundation in 1984 after recognizing the need for meal assistance for homebound seniors. Since then, the foundation’s services have continued to expand to serve the senior citizen, veteran and disabled adult population.

Turk, a Plott hound terrier mix, was previously picked up as a stray in Bexar County before coming to the Canyon Lake Animal Shelter. The procurement team with the nonprofit K9s for Warriors pulled him from the Canyon Lake shelter about a week ago after they were drawn to his sweet and attentive personality.

A two-year old stray named Turk from the Canyon Lake Animal Shelter will soon begin training to become a service dog for one of the nation’s veterans in need.
