Job Opening: Editor
Charles River Media’s services include in-studio and on-location video production, post production, and virtual event/live streaming production for corporate, commercial, and non-profit clients. We are looking to hire an in-person Editor to lead post production on a wide variety of video and motion graphic projects. The work is a mix of corporate and non-profit storytelling, documentaries, television commercials, product demos, event coverage, and internal and external communications for large companies.

Main Roles:
Video editing and motion graphics
Project and media management
Communicate with stakeholders from production to post-production process
Discover and implement new technologies and best practices to maximize efficiency.

Requirements:
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
College diploma or equivalent

Would Be Nice:
Familiarity with full Adobe Creative Suite
Color grading
Audio mixing
Love of Ping Pong

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience. 401K Retirement Plan with company match. Medical insurance. PTO.

We were back on site last weekend at the Groton School for their Prize Day event providing a 5 camera broadcast package. The commencement ceremony included faculty speeches, student awards and diplomas, and remarks from guest speaker and Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Jon Meacham.

The program was live streamed to a global audience watching on both YouTube Live and Zoom Webinar. We showcased the event from all angles:
- One camera that captured the procession from the chapel to the tent
- Two cameras capturing the stage (wide and tight) from over 100 feet away
- One camera on each side of the stage to capture the audience and students walking across the stage

The camera shots were called by our director and switched live by our technical director. Our stream engineer managed encoding and broadcasting the feed to the internet platforms. In addition, microphones were set up to capture the sounds of the crowd in order to create an immersive broadcast audio mix. The online audience was able to view the event in full HD and hear the applause, laughter, and joyful shouts of the on-site attendees.

When it comes to live streaming, internet can’t skip a beat, especially when it’s at a major global investors meeting. Dropouts are not to mention inconvenient and embarrassing, but could also mean clients might miss key information and opportunities when the stream is dropped.

That’s why when Jon Shedler's client wanted to add bonded cellular as a backup to the venue connection only a week before their event, PopUp WiFi was his first choice. Jon was worried he wouldn’t be able to secure a solution in time to bump in, but the team at PopUp WiFi got a quote to Jon within 24 hours and got the unit on the road the next day. When the unit arrived, all Jon had to do was put it in place, plug it in and call our support team so that they could optimize for the best performance.

Better yet, Jon and his client decided to use the unit as their primary internet for their live stream instead of the venue's and it didn’t skip a beat! Here’s what Jon had to say about his experience with PopUp WiFi:

When Thought Industries asked us to elevate the look and feel of their 2022 COGNITION conference with a custom virtual set, we were happy to help! Built in Cinema 4D, this virtual environment enabled us to record keynote presentations, software demos, and interviews using the live green screen workflows at our 73 TV Place Studio. We look forward to expanding on our virtual production capabilities in 2023... so stay tuned!

Happy to share a look at our work with Coyne PR at CeraVe's livestream event in NYC featuring Avani (42 million TikTok followers) and Dr. Portela and Dr. Henry on stage.

We provided a 4 camera broadcast package with Canon C300s, stage lighting, sound systems for in-room reinforcement and broadcast, IMAG screens, live graphics, prompters, dual SRT outbound feeds, and bonded cellular internet for reliable streaming.
