Can’t express how much I’m looking forward to this Saturday night at @theryman supporting @jasonisbell. They’re both Nashville treasures. I dug around in the vault and found this backstage video from the first time I played the Ryman in 1996, with @rickyskaggs, #JamesHouse, @kevinwelchmusic and the late great #MikeHenderson. 28 years later, I’m so grateful to be part of this beautiful continuum.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of surprising my songwriting workshop students with a special guest who just happened to be in town. After spending a generous hour talking about songwriting and answering all their questions, he left us to get back to the main reason he was in Nashville - headlining at Bridgestone Arena. Big love and thanks to my friend of more than 30(????🤯) years, Bryan Adams You’re the best. PS There is nothing like hearing 20,000 people all singing a song you co-wrote.

😭😭😭 Just in case you were despairing at the state of the world - I just got this video from my brother in Cloverdale, CA. This young woman is named Elenora Bezhenar. She arrived in Cloverdale four months ago, after escaping from Odesa, Ukraine to Romania, then finally to the USA. She and her sisters are all musicians, and when they left Odesa, they had to leave their instruments behind. Thanks to the generosity of a very kind donor, who I never would have found without the help of Erin Enderlin (Erin you are a 🌟), we were able to get Elenora and her sisters some guitars. My brother and his family are largely responsible for helping the family with immediate needs once they arrived in California. This video was taken at a neighborhood party to welcome Elenora and her family. I am so deeply moved to hear the words to my song "Say Grace" in her voice - she knows of what she sings. #saygrace
