We invite you to join us in this conversation — bring your questions and your listening ears. Mixer (Legal to Brew Since 1967) is a brand new podcast launching in 2017 presenting conversations about life experiences, current events, politics, nerdom, pop c

ulture, and more through the lens of various multiracial and multi-ethnic viewpoints. Our group is composed of people from various cultures, faiths, genders, sexual orientations, and disabilities. Some of us were raised to be a part of one culture, others were raised to pass as white, others weren’t entirely sure who they were supposed to be. This isn’t about promoting the one way to be as a multiracial person. It’s about promoting thoughtful examination of the stories that make us who we are.

This is one of my life long best friends kids, Seamus Purdy. This kid has been taught their whole life by one of the most compassionate and well learned men I have ever met, and one of the most outspoken courageous badass ladies I have ever met. You get some who is competent, educated, compassionate, and done with this bu****it. I have known this little one since they were born and they are the thing people are complacent with the pain we are causing to each other should be afraid of. Smart enough to fix it, and mad enough to do it.

Meet the poet behind the words of “Insomnia’s My Closest Friend,” Tavius Marshall! Tavius Marshall has been a poet and storyteller in Nashville for more than 20 years. He is the project lead and creator of the podcast/live show The Mixer: Legal To Brew Since 1967 and the comedy fiction podcast Spooning In The Apocalypse. Tavius believes that stories are the essential elements that define us as human beings; he has spent his career dedicated to crafting, forming, and sharing these stories so that we can reinvent our definitions of ourselves.
