This was such a fun week! Had the immense joy and privilege of helping this beautiful family find and purchase their first home here in Franklin! It’s so amazing to me how perfect strangers can become like family in such a short period of time, but it’s my favorite part of the “job.”

Love being part of your journey, Ryan and .aijian! So excited for your gorgeous, growing family and praying blessing upon blessing on you guys in your new home!! Grateful and so happy for you!

“A thankful heart is a happy heart.” - Madame Blueberry // This past year has been a wild ride - to put it mildly - but I am so incredibly grateful for how Jesus has used it to shift my perspective and produce so much joy in my life.

If I’m honest, I often feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders and it’s all resting on me to get the job done. And I think The Lord knows what He’s doing and He uses that to make me hungry and give me a hustle that helps me be successful. But it can also burn me out and bum me out when all my efforts don’t seem to be working out. And it is His kindness to put me in situations that humble me so that He alone can get the glory when He decides to show up and show off.

It does seem that He chooses this particular path for me more often than not (because I’m a total amnesiac knucklehead generally speaking) that He takes me to places where in my moments I LEAST DESERVE His blessing - He chooses to magnify His grace most intensely by giving that blessing in the most ludicrously, scandalously generous way possible. I feel like that’s the summary of my life. Me being an idiot. The Lord pouring out His mercy and generosity on me. Rinse and repeat.

So today, I begin my week with gratitude. Choosing to live FROM my identity as a son of God who has been created in His image, purchased by the infinitely precious blood of Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross, adopted into His family, given an eternal inheritance, an unwavering hope, a new name, and filled with His Spirit and power to live a life of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control that seeks to bring His Kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven. To be a mirror that reflects His glory, kindness, and compassion in a hurting world. What a high calling. What a privilege.

Happy Sunday, beautiful people. Pursue gratitude. You’ll get the happiness along with it.

OCTOBER PHOTO DUMP

Such a full month with so many great memories and firsts.

Like my oldest turning 21 (WHAT?! 🤯) and Ethan turning 11 😭!

Speaking at Conference in Denver and enjoying a few refreshing days biking and hiking in the mountains with .n.miller!

Eating the best meal I think I have ever had in my life at with our amazing best friends!

Really finding a group of men with whom to do life and pursue Jesus! And in the most picturesque, awe-inspiring setting.

Playing my first game of golf ever (horribly, but it was fun) and realizing I am so in on this game - mainly because it’s such a good time hanging with friends! Thankful for pushing me to take the plunge.

Enjoying my freedom and privilege as an American to get to vote! We went early and 4 of our kiddos voted for the first time! 😳 I was so proud as a dad!

And finally, I think just so much gratitude to get to finish out the 3rd quarter of the year 3rd in my brokerage. Getting to serve and help people in their journey of home ownership is seriously such a blessing for me personally and for my family. And especially this year, as we have really intentionally transitioned away from vlogging so we can give our kids some more privacy, seeing the Lord pour out his favor and blessing on this work has been such a testimony of grace, for which I am so, so thankful! Excited to finish out the year strong!

Hard to believe it’s November 1 already! If you need me, I’ll be listening to my brother ’s Christmas album on repeat and trying to convince my wife to let us put up the new tree this weekend!

Excuse me while I write this as a puddle on the floor cause my mini-me woman child turns 21 today and I’m not prepared for it emotionally. My oldest daughter who made me a dad when I was but a wee lad and has been so patient and gracious with me as we essentially grew up together in many ways! 😂

, you are wise beyond your years and such an old soul that truly does challenge and encourage your mom and me and our whole family to pursue the healthiest, most fulfilled lives that we can - spiritually, physically, emotionally, you name it! You live the adventure and keep it in balance and keep Jesus at the center in a way that inspires everyone one around you.

Add on top of that your impeccable taste in music and film and food and fashion and decor and - well, pretty much everything. You are just such a freaking cool kid and now you’re a cool 21 year old who’s living it up in Hawaii this week, starting this whole new era out in style!

I’m so, so proud of you, Reesie! You’ll always be my little girl. But I’m so proud of the woman you have become. And I’m so grateful to get to be your dad. I love you!! Happy Birthday!

I love when clients become friends! Such a fun morning today getting to close these amazing folks on the most wonderful property! Got the honor of meeting Courtney and Brandon last month and have so enjoyed getting to know them and serve their beautiful family! Truly some of the kindest people I have had the privilege of meeting! So pumped for them and excited to see their vision come to life! So, so grateful I get to do this!

It was such a joy sharing some of my story and speaking on The Art of Getting It Wrong this morning at Conference here in Denver! This crew is a total blast and I feel so honored to be here.

The theme of the morning was “Mortified,” and I can’t help but envision them in a planning meeting asking each other, “Who could we get to speak that specializes in screwing up in Biblical proportions of mortifying embarrassment?” And someone was like, “STEPHEN MILLER!” 😂

But it was such an encouraging morning getting to hear from so many moms and encourage them as well that we are not our failures. Our failures aren’t final. And our failures don’t define us, but they can refine us! They may, in fact, be the best teacher, coach, personal trainer, or therapist that our time can buy!

And so we are wildly free to lead and parent from the hard-won wisdom we have earned from our failures! We are gloriously free to be honest with ourselves and with our kids and to let that be a gift that builds trust and safety as we share our struggles and how we are being shaped in the midst of them with our kids. When we humble ourselves, own it, commit to the shaping, sanctifying work God has intended for us through it, and choose to be vulnerable enough to share about our failures, it really does lead to connection in ways all our “getting it right” never could.

And I’m so, so thankful for that. And so grateful for the opportunity to get to share.

August is always our busiest month. Not only do we have 3 kids with August birthdays, celebrate Penny & Lincoln’s adoption anniversary, back to school, and more, but it’s just crazy in general usually. So here is a little recap!

1. We got to celebrate our friend .kushner releasing his BRILLIANT new album The Dichotomy. Sooooo proud of this guy and the album has been on repeat! So proud of you, David!

2. We got to take to Costa Rica for his 18th birthday and it was amaaaazing memories forever!

3. Penny & Lincoln’s 7 years home adoption anniversary.

5. AND got her FIRST CAR!!
