Mindset Magic: Listening is more valuable than speaking.
Recently, I found myself googling, "How long does it take to form a habit?" My search led me to a thought-provoking article by the Harvard Business Review, where they interviewed Nir Eyal, the author of 'Indistractable: How to Control Your Attention and Choose Your Life.' Eyal stated, "A habit is a behavior done with little or no thought, while a routine involves a series of behaviors frequently and intentionally repeated. A behavior has to be a regularly performed routine before it can become a habit."
So, how does this tie into listening more?
Whether you're aiming to grow your existing business or to launch a new one, listening to the people around you is vital. After all, they are typically your target audience who you are ultimately trying to reach.
For instance, consider a winery. Customers visit the tasting room daily, engaging with wine educators and asking questions about the wine, the region, and perhaps how to cellar wine.
How can you leverage this dialogue and these inquiries to your advantage? One idea is to create an 'End of Day Checklist' for your team aka making it a routine process. On this checklist, besides tasks like cleaning glasses (I've been there 😂), you could include a prompt like: "List 3 questions your customers asked you today."
As an owner or a marketing director, you can then monitor trends, FAQs, etc. This approach will help you be relatable and compassionate to your audiences needs, ultimately making your marketing efforts more successful.
Would more mindset magic posts be helpful for you in your business? ✨
