Hark! The Herald Angels Sing! The Rockefeller Center Angels constructed in 1955 by artist Valerie Clarebout have been installed around the holidays every year since. I was fortunate enough to be able to photograph them in 2019. Merry Christmas from Ghost Image Solutions!

I was recently in Washington State spending time with my family and celebrating my grandmother’s life. I didn’t get too many photos that I’m gonna share publicly, but here’s a couple landscape photos showing the evergreens that are such a staple of the area. And of course my cousin’s rare 1993 Jeep Wrangler Renegade that she drives daily!

A couple shots of some really cool ships taken on a vacation a few years back. The first one is the Charles Morgan, a whaling ship constructed in 1841 that was in service for over 80 years. And the second is the Shenandoah, a schooner in Nantucket Bay in Martha’s Vineyard used as an educational cruise ship for students in the area.

All abandoned. The former site of the Kolmar Plant in Port Jervis, NY was a repurposed lodge and was established in 1942 as a cosmetics manufacturing facility. The site closed in 1995 and has sat in ruin ever since.

Some more fall foliage from a trip to Orange County recently. The Hawks Nest in Port Jervis, The Bear Mountain and Popolopen Bridges taken from the Fort Montgomery State Historic Site, Harriman State Park, and to top it all off, I was lucky enough to witness an absolutely gorgeous rearview mirror sunset on I-84.

Multiple fire departments battled a stubborn brush fire over 3 acres in size behind the Nanuet Outdoor Education Center on Convent Rd. in Nanuet, New York on November 1st, 2024.

Multiple Rockland County fire departments battled a stubborn brush fire in Nanuet this afternoon. Reported just after 4pm, the first responding units were met with a fire in the woods spanning over 3 acres. With the help of mutual aid companies, the fire was brought under control around 9pm. My happy place. Up in the sky above the fall foliage. I’ve seen a lot of autumn photos this year and I decided I needed to get a better angle …so I spun up my props! I was getting nervous as I traveled that I might be too late, and the trees were already brown. But it’s amazing how some areas were past peak, and some were just changing. Managed to capture the Tsuchinshan-ATLAS Comet (don’t ask me to pronounce that) otherwise known as the C/2023 A3 Comet last night. I hiked Buttermilk Falls at sunset to a rock outcropping that looks west, …and suddenly remembered I had to hike back down in the dark 😅 worth it for the photo!

Did YOU catch the Aurora Borealis? In my 30 years on this earth I never have until last night. I decided to take the Nikon D750, its full frame image sensor captures more light and it shows! Bear Mountain was as crowded as it would be on a weekend in July, but thankfully I know a few secret spots that nobody else had found 😉•

Your zoom matters! Photojournalist Robert Capa said “if your pictures aren’t good enough, you’re not close enough.” I’m not so sure I agree! Today, I took my car out and decided to test his theory. At low focal lengths, we see a bit of a fisheye effect, and you get more of the background in your frame taking attention from your subject. So I’ll let you decide. Which focal length is best? And slide into the DMs if you have a cool car you want a photoshoot with!

I couldn’t decide which photo to post of the lunar eclipse last night. So I said why not both? One was shot with my Sony A6700, the other was shot with my Nikon D750. I gotta say, I was impressed by the performance of the A6700’s APS-C image sensor compared to the full frame Nikon D750. So I’ll let the audience decide. Which one is a better shot? 1 or 2? •
