The I-215 has been closed in both directions in the area of the fire, per Murrieta PD. The southbound side is closed at Clinton Keith Rd and the northbound side is closed at Los Alamos Rd.

In the mid 2000’s Dan Hollingsworth, whose son Dennis Hollingsworth (represented California's 36th State Senate district from 2002 to 2010 ) had a 70-100 foot cross painted on the rocky hillside behind his house and above Clinton Keith Road. It shines brightly at night. The cross is visible from much of Murrieta and Interstate 215.
