BREAKING NEWS: MLSD places Superintendent Monty Sabin on administrative leave

-Moses Lake, WA

Following an executive session convened by the Moses Lake School Board at Tuesday night’s “special” board meeting, the decision has been made to place Superintendent Monty Sabin on administrative leave.

This decision was reached at 7:00pm during the board meeting. The reason for this action remains undisclosed at present. Carol Lewis, currently serving as Assistant Superintendent, has been appointed as the interim superintendent for the district. This comes after a sweep of layoffs and reduction in educational programs across the district after voters rejected a recent levy proposal.

Monty Sabin assumed the role of superintendent for the Moses Lake School District in March of 2022.

This is a developing story and more information will be published when received.
