Color correction and microshading.

This client came to me with aged micblading (5years). The pigment had faded to a reddish color. This meant a color correction was required to neutralize the red.

Why do we have to address the old pigment?

If we didn’t, once her new pigment had healed the redness from the old PMU would show through.

If your old PMU pigment has aged to an unwanted color, you have options if your skin is not over saturated.

Microshading/ powder brow finishing touch-up.

What can you expect during a brow service?

1. All sessions require 2 appointments (included in pricing)

2. Brow mapping- see top photo. This can be a scary thing for some…. You have to be able to look beyond the “black outline” and just focus on the shape. That harsh outline will not be there in the end. I need it to be able to know where to start and stop. This is also the time we make adjustments and not until you approve your brows do we start placing pigment.

3. Topical numbing. Your service should be tolerable with little to no pain. Most client report feeling more of a “vibration”.

4. Expect color to be about 2-3 shades darker than you want. Your brows will lighten by 30-60% when healed so I have to account for some of that pigment loss.

5. Your brows will get darker on days 2-4 but will calm down.

The pigment selected to created to match your brow hairs as closely as possible. Every persons color is different. Sometimes I use 3 or more pigments to create the best match.

6. Redness, minor bleeding and swelling, lymph drainage. Expect your brows to respond as if there was an injury. All completely normal and helps to prevent infection.

7. You receive an aftercare kit that includes : cleanser, healing balm, cotton rounds and instructions in a reusable travel case. (My gift to you as a thank you!)

8. You return in 6-8 weeks for the finishing touchup. The aftercare is the same as the first time.

Microshading is a technique that I use a lot. It’s appropriate for almost all skin types but especially for my oily skinned clients.

I use a handheld device that implants pigment into the skin.

How is permanent makeup different than a standard tattoo?

1. For permanent makeup (brows especially) uses pigment and a standard tattoo, ink is used.

2. The depth the pigment is implanted is much more shallow than a standard tattoo…. I’m going into the very upper dermal layer and a standard tattoo ink is implanted approximately 5 layers.

Please please please before you decide to have permanent makeup completed, do some research, ask your artist questions. Know what to expect during the healing process and what your aftercare routine will be, what your upkeep/ maintanence will be, how your lifestyle and skin care products can affect your PMU.

It’s your skin, it’s your face. You should be asking ALL the questions!

When a little goes a long way!!

Microshading is a great option for clients with oily skin or for clients who’s skin is not appropriate for Microblading.

Aftercare is completed for 2 weeks following your service.

It’s important to know you should protect your brows from direct sunlight during the healing time ( 2 weeks) with a hat.

Powder brow/ microshading.

This technique is probably my most performed technique because it’s appropriate for all skin types; dry, oily and combination.

The saturation or depth of color can be adjusted to your goals. It can be soft, light and airy to bolder more intense color.

These will heal soft and airy. She will lose 3-6% of the color during the healing process. So where your brows start is NOT where they end.

The healing process is a journey. It can be intimidating and a bit scary because the color may be darker than ou want. This is intentional to account for the pigment loss.

Always remember 2 things:
1. It’s the healed results we are looking for.
2. Your brows are sisters NOT twins!

2 Morpheus treatments, I added collagen to my morning coffee, and I’ve been using ZO and Skin Medica skin care products morning and night.

From teen into adulthood I have acne. This left me with scarring and large pores. Next add age and genetics (thanks gram still miss you) and I have to wear orange during turkey season to stay safe! I also have rosacea. 🙄

I always take before and afters…. Because I’m my own worst critic and can’t always see the changes cause I focus on whatever I see I don’t like.

I think the over texture has improved.

So you see a difference or is it just wishful thinking on my part??

1 week healed nano brows….

The nano brow technique is where I use a machine to create hairlike strokes throughout your brow.

It offers a natural look and can be a great option for client who are not a candidate for Microblading.

I love when my clients send me pictures during the healing process…. So I can share with others what to expect.

Although, I try to prepare you the best I can for the healing process I think seeing it helps. What do you think? Does it help?

This can be combined with shading or is beautiful on its own.

The redness will resolve and the color of the pigment will soften when healed.

Lash enhancement liner…..

Pigment is placed within the lash line giving your lashes a fuller appearance. It’s a simple but elegant liner.

Liner will appear dark and thicker than it will once it’s healed. You can expect to lose 30-60% of the color and about 25% of the thickness.

You may experience, redness, swelling, minor bleeding, bruising and pain. All normal responses. Just plan accordingly knowing these may happen.

Aftercare….
Wash twice a day with a non fragrant gentle cleanser. Apply the aftercare cream I give you at least twice a day.

No eye makeup for at least a week or until completely healed (no scabbing or peeling)

Does it hurt?
First, this is a tattoo….
I use a topical numbing cream. Clients report an average of about 3/10 pain in some areas. Overall, people tolerate this service well.

Brow mapping is where your brows start. This allows you to see what the shape of your brows will be….

It also gives me the guide for placing the pigment to create your brows.

Brows are not “one size fits all” we all have different shapes, different hair patterns, different hair color and what we like if different. That’s why YOU must approve the shape during the outline process or we do not move forward.

I know this is a scary but exciting decision.

My advice to you is…. Do your homework, research the process and your artist and ask a ton of questions and don’t make your decision based off of the cheapest price.
