Tough morning with the kids today.

Psalm 127:3–5 (ESV): Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. 4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth.
5 Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.

Proverbs 17:6 (ESV): Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their fathers.

Job 1:21 (ESV): “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

Kids are not a hindrance they are a blessing and gift God has given us.
Take a second to really stop and think on that. It's a blessing, a responsibility granted to us. To raise another human.
That's such a great blessing and responsibility. It does get overwhelming. Feels like non stop crying. Chasing.
Telling them to stop for the 800th time. Constantly picking up what you've just picked up 10 minutes ago.

Well, I was doing laundry hanging up my son's shirt after a pretty rough morning before we sent them off to school while my wife was headed to college.
Hazels room; a disaster. We can't find her school work we spent so much time on during the weekend. One thing after another. Building up each day.
- But stop.
I realized how blessed we truly are to be given the privilege to have a mess to clean up, or another shirt to wash because it's been used.
- It could very well never move again.
The messes could certainly stop, because noones there to make them.
It sure would be quiter without the screaming and yelling, fighting back and forth.
- If Noone was there to make a sound.
How many people would give anything just to have one of your worst day with your kids?
Now does this mean stop addressing , guiding and disciplining. No. It does not. However we can also go into those roles with a different mindset-if- we- stop- and rest in that fact. Kids are a blessing. Not a hindrance.

The disciples missed the whole point of the left overs!!!

After Jesus had fed both the 5,000 and the 4,000 with only a few loaves and fish, the disciples got in a boat without enough bread for themselves.

When they began to discuss their plight, Jesus said, “Why are you discussing the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive or understand?” (Mark 8:17). What didn’t they understand?

They did not understand the meaning of the leftovers, namely, that Jesus will take care of them when they take care of others. Jesus says,

“When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” They said to him, “Twelve.” “And the seven for the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” And they said to him, “Seven.” And he said to them, “Do you not yet understand?” (Mark 8:19–21)

Understand what? The leftovers.

The leftovers were for the servers. In fact, the first time there were twelve servers and twelve basketfuls left over (Mark 6:43) — one whole basket for each server. The second time there were seven basketfuls left over — seven, the number of abundant completeness.

What didn’t they understand? That Jesus would take care of them. You can’t out-give Jesus. When you spend your life for others, your needs will be met. “My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).

Genesis 2:15 (ESV): 15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.

- These issues are never surprising. This the very same picture of what it looks like us playing God ignoring him. Closing our eyes saying the sun isnt real because i dont see it vs Letting God play God while we take note and surrender to his authority over HIS CREATION.

Keep in mind this one statistic. A church of about 450 shows up on Sunday. About 25 come to the prayer meeting on Thursday.
