Orange County, New York held its September 11th Patriot Day ceremony at the Orange County Arboretum at Thomas Bull Memorial Park on Tuesday. Honor guards from the Orange County Sheriff's Office, New York guided the procession along the Remembrance Walkway flanked into the ceremony. Legislator Jim O’Donnell served as the keynote speaker at the ceremony. O’Donnell worked for the State Police from 1974 to 1997, retiring with the rank of Lt. Col. He went on to serve as the Chief of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Department and was on duty during the 9/11 terrorist attacks. We will never forget.

The Village of Montgomery held their annual Tractor Parade and Farm Day September 1, 2018. The day was filled with fun for the entire family including activities for the kids, Garden Tractor Pull, Hit and Miss Engines, tractor displays, food, and more! The day ended with an old fashioned square dance at the Montgomery Fire Department pavilion with Glory Bound Band and live calling by Joe Mediema. The parade began on Railroad Avenue and ended at Chambers Tractors.

The Village of Montgomery held their 28th Annual General Montgomery Day 8K (GMD8K) September 6, 2018. Dubbed “The best little race in the country” since 1991, the Survivors 8K proceeds will support The Cancer Resource Center of the Hudson Valley

TEAM SPOTLIGHT: Montgomery Elementary School GOTR

My favorite thing about coaching Girls on the Run is watching my girls grow together as a team each season. Our first practices are so quiet, by the end everyone is so eager to participate. I love seeing my girls start to encourage one another, whether they're running or talking through something.

My advice to girls everywhere is no matter what, always try your best.
