Ah, would you look at that- another person telling me "just relax."

Happy Wellness Wednesday. I hope you're treating yourself well and if not, focus on treating yourself better a little more every day. Always remember your feelings are valid. All feelings are okay. Healthy expression is even greater. Practice mindfulness. Gratitude. Journaling. Breathing or Yoga. Blowing bubbles. Eating candy. Talk to a friend. Bilateral stimulation. Head squeezes. Whatever it takes to be safe and healthy cope.

Mental health disorders are as real as physical ailments, disorders and diseases, yet the conversations regarding mental health is severely lacking in our society. Allowing yourself the opportunity to talk about your feelings, your diagnosis if you want without judgement or pressure, accepting mental health as health in order to focus on replenishing your brain. It's ok not to be ok. Choose hope over pain. Talk about it. Write about it. Don't just hold it in thinking about it. Pull out the weeds and replant the seeds to heal, glow and grow. Grow yourself. Most importantly, love yourself as you. Your mental health doesn't define you.

Health is a state of body. Wellness is a state of being. When you take time to put the two together you unlock opportunities for growth and healing too.

Practice mindfulness. Manifest in positive thoughts and affirmations. Tell yourself out loud how incredible you are. Flaws and all, you are loved. You are enough.

"If speaking kindly to plants helps them grow, imagine what speaking kindly to humans can do!" Be kind. To your body and to your mind. Then be kind to others.

The mind is such a powerful tool. I believe that we as humans have the ability to control our minds and although it is not always easy, mindset is everything.

Having a fixed mindset is easier. Telling yourself that you cannot get through this time, emotion, feeling or experience. Feeling pity for yourself, and yes, I use the word pity because ultimately we feel bad for ourselves. We may not consciously request pity, but instinctually as humans, we crave others feeling bad for our difficult times, our hard feelings and experiences. We feel bad for ourselves.

And you know what? It's honestly ok. It's okay to feel sadness. Anger. Pain and struggle. It's okay to question why this is happening. Why you feel this way and why do others feel the way they do? But we must remember, we are in control. We control our minds and although we live in a society where most of our minds control us, aka mental illness, we have the capability to grow our minds, to create a growth mindset!! Mental health matters! Empathy matters!

Growing through what you go through. Shifting to a new pot and adding new soil if that's what you have to do. Get yourself what you need to grow! That includes supportive, empathetic, kind and supportive humans surrounding you.

I wish for everyone to have at least one person rooting for them just as much as they should be rooting for themselves. You are amazing. You are worthy. You do matter! πŸ’™πŸ’œ

Fall in love with taking care of yourself. Self care isn't selfish, it's necessary.

Fall in love with the path of deep healing. Connect with your Tribe and utilize your trauma as a tool to thrive.

Thrive through this pain. Transition your pain into power. Your fears into faith. Your struggles into strength. Your heart into hope.

It's allowed to be heavy. It's allowed to hurt. You're allowed to feel. You're allowed to express, and I hope you find healthy ways to do so.

I'm a firm believer in talking about it. Talking about trauma. Talking about emotions and feelings. The more we talk about it, the more we normalize it for our society. The lower the stigma becomes and the higher self esteem, self care and self worth throughout our society.

You are not your trauma. Trauma is all around us, but it doesn't have to take hold of us, our minds and bodies.

Check in with yourself today and every day. Then simply ask another human, how they are feeling. Ask them if they want to die. I know it sounds harsh, but the su***de prevention community believes that just by asking that question we can lower su***de rates. So ask. It all starts here.

Happy treat yourself Tuesday!
What better day to do something special for you? Every Tuesday, I treat myself. Whether it's stopping at my favorite coffee shop on the way to work, or coming home and binge watching an entire season of my favorite show. It used to be naps or showers, but let's be honest, that's far from a treat. It's hygiene, it's self care. It's necessary.

Treat yourself with a real treat. That Reese cup. That Starbucks caramel crunch ribbon frappe. Blast your favorite song on repeat until the neighbor three doors down remembers the lyrics. journal or do a craft! play those video games! Anything that feels like a treat to you...that isn't a need. Treat yourself to a want. You deserve to have what you want.

Face your fears and follow your dreams! You can accomplish anything! Face your thoughts, feelings and experiences. Face whatever comes your way. Facing it, simply facing it is the way through. Grow through what you go through. Sometimes life is hard. Some days are very challenging and sometimes you just have to cry before moving forward. It's okay. Feel the emotions. Acknowledge them and accept them. Then, find a way to manage them and express them in healthy ways. You got this. It's november. No time for forgetting who you are, who you desire to be. Happy thankful Thursday!

There is always a reason to be thankful and some days you just have to seek out that reason, and that is perfectly ok. As humans we have the experiences of life, which may mean feelings, heavy thoughts, grief and so much more that shouldn't be "normal', yet here most of us are realizing as we get older that these experiences are not ok. We did not deserve them. They were out of our control and we have the power to build ourselves up by growing self love and leading a path to healing. I absolutely love these two quotes. They are great quotes to remember and hold on to. I am thankful these words were shared in this order to our society and world.

Today, I am thankful for another day of life. I am grateful for the community I am continuing to build, although it is small right now, it is mighty and powerful. They inspire me to reach my most authentic self daily and equip myself with tools to thrive while alive. I am thankful to be a mom. I am thankful to be a wife. I am grateful for my ability to write and more thankful to whoever invented paper and a way to write. I'm thankful that if I wanted to brush up on my history, I could, but I am grateful that I know myself well enough to know, history and math just aren't my strong subjects.

Hold on to hope. Grow through what you go through. Be kind to your mind. To your heart. To your soul. Transition trauma into a tool to thrive while alive.

How are you doing today? Feeling? Are you following negative thinking patterns? Experiencing challenges or unwanted emotions? Did you remember to treat yourself yesterday?

Remember, "your trauma is valid even if...

-you can't remember it properly
-its been years since it happened
-you haven't told anyone about it
-your symptoms don't look like anyone else's
-it didn't make you "stronger"
-someone didn't think it was a big deal
-you think other people have it "worse"
-it took you awhile for you to realize it was trauma
-it doesn't really impact you anymore

Your trauma doesn't define you. Your experiences don't define you. You are worthy. You are loved. You are not alone.

So unplug. Treat yourself to ice cream on a warm day. Go for a walk with a friend. Have a picnic. Take a nap. Have a smoothie or binge, and eat your favorite snack while watching Netflix. Take a personal day off work. Sing your favorite songs. Get a haircut or new style. Buy a new outfit. Let your worries go. Light a candle that brings you joy. Whatever treat you choose, is yours. It's your treat, so enjoy. You deserve it. You are enough. You are worthy. You do matter.

remember you are not your experiences. your trauma is not your fault. remember it is your responsibility to heal. it is your responsibility to channel your feelings, emotions and behavior in the utmost healthy of ways.

sure, maybe this isn't a proper sentence, grammatically incorrect, but the point is we are in control of how we respond whether it be emotionally or behaviorally. take some time to treat yourself today.

it's truly the simple things. coffee with a friend before work. a phone call with a loved one. finally splurging the hottest Netflix series. eating your favorite ice cream and then journaling. listening to your favorite song. writing a song. taking a nap. eating Oreos..with peanut butter. whatever a treat looks like for you, treat yourself. today and every Tuesday. after all, we're all only human. give yourself grace...today and every day forward.

although I haven't posted in a little while, I hope everyone took some time today to slow down and self care. I have been slacking tremendously on self care lately and I've been gently reminded by my body to simply slow down. as an empath, it's so easy to get caught up in the world around me. it's even easier to get caught up in the feelings and emotions of those around me and if I'm being honest, most of the humans around me are hurting to some extent. I feel their pain on top of mine and I slowly push my pain down. then suddenly my body flares up and my auto immune disorder reminds me how important it truly is to self acknowledge my pain and hurt. the days nearly over but I'm ready to slow down. you should too.
