Rapid Icing Development Possible...

An arctic cold front will move across the region between 9 AM and 11 AM. Areas of light rain or drizzle ahead of this front will support some wet roads. Temperatures will rapidly drop below freezing with the passage of the front. Temperatures will then drop into the 20s early this afternoon. Any untreated wet paved surfaces will rapidly freeze. Drivers and pedestrians should remain alert to deteriorating conditions late this morning and early this afternoon.

Today is AMBER Alert Awareness Day, which honors the memory of 9-year-old Amber Hagerman who was abducted and murdered in Arlington, TX on January 13, 1996.

Since the origination of the national initiative, more than 1,290 children have been successfully recovered as a direct result of the AMBER Alert Program.
