For those that couldn't listen to our announcement last night...
Well, earlier this year the station (WVOA) made the decision to close the radio facility in East Syracuse and move operations to their downtown location. This is something we've known about but kept quiet out of not wanting to upset our listeners.
With this move, the station (Cram Communications) does not have the space required to host live shows anymore. We can still broadcast with them IF we find an alternate space to do so.
So, we're going to try a kickstarter at the end of the week and see if we have enough communty/listener support to raise funds to rent a space, new equipment and continue broadcasting past 12/31/25.
I truly believe in my heart and soul that the Wax Museum must go on. We are a family here. This show has provided music, laughter and love for over 16 years. And I refuse to go down without a fight.
Steven Alexander, John Walsh, Mike Adams and I have been working hard to create a kickstarter campaign that will be online in a few days. This was a decision I did not take lightly. Asking people for help has never been my strong suit. But without a new space and the required equipment, we will have to end the program. And that is not a positive outcome. For all of us that produce the show, all of our listeners, the advertisers, and the local radio community as well.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
