So, with a day job, how do I make time to work on Inspire & Thrive? I work at work! On most break times, you'll find me sitting in front of a computer or my IPad, working on creating content or my next product. I could be on multiple devices at once, just so I don't have to go back and forth between computer screens. Having an IPad has been so helpful. I use my phone a lot too, but you can only do so much with a small screen. 🤷🏽‍♀️

And then when I get home from work, I'm working on Inspire & Thrive at night, too.

How do you spend your break times at work? I'd love to know!

Do you have hopes and dreams that you have yet to bring to life?

I had lots of hopes and dreams when I was growing up. My dream life filled with happiness and love. My dream music career. My dream house that looked like the ones I saw by the local creek or lake.

Did I have a plan to make those dreams come true? No. Did I make any commitments to myself to make those dreams come to life? Somewhat. I knew that’s what I really wanted and I promised myself that one day, I would have those things and that dream life, but without some kind of plan to make those things materialize, my hopes and dreams were just that - hopes and dreams.

Creating plans is a great starting point to make your hopes and dreams come to life, but without commitment to stick to the plan, you’ll never have those things you truly desire. You’ll spend the rest of your life daydreaming and wishing for those things. I should know. I’ve been daydreaming about a better, happier life for years, but I didn’t make the effort to make plans and commit to them… until now.

If you want that dream career, that dream house, that dream relationship, you have to create plans towards those goals. And on top of that, be committed to following through with those plans. Follow through even when times get tough. Even when you don’t feel like it.

Ask yourself why having these things in your life is so important to you. Write them down. Put them somewhere you’ll see them easily. Keep looking at that list and remind yourself what you’re working towards. That will help you stay committed to your plans.

What hopes and dreams do you have for your life? What plans do you feel you need to make? Share them in the comments so we can cheer you on and support you! 🎉

New year, new mindset. Let’s talk about your inner critic—that voice in your head that can sometimes be your biggest obstacle.

Instead of silencing it, try reframing it with self-compassion:

"I didn’t achieve everything I planned today" → "I’m proud of the effort I gave, and tomorrow is a fresh start."

"I failed at that goal" → "This is a learning opportunity, not a failure."

"I’m not good enough" → "I’m growing, healing, and worthy just as I am."

✨ Your action for today: Journal one negative thought and reframe it into something nurturing and uplifting.

On this day, I want to acknowledge the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.. He saw a world that didn’t exist in his time here on earth. And sadly, though legislation has passed laws to end segregation in the U.S. over the years, black people still go through oppression and injustice to this day. Black people are still being treated poorly in some spaces due to the color of their skin or because of believed stereotypes of black people.

Being a bi-racial woman myself and have raised black children, I have seen this injustice first hand. It saddens me that after so many years, there are many people who cannot see past simple differences.

With today also being Inauguration Day of a man who has spoken much hate over the years, I feel sad knowing that he will once again run this country. This quote feels fitting today, as I feel we will not see true peace in this country with a leader like this. I’m praying for this country today in hopes that we can find peace during this time. We all bleed the same regardless of how we look on the outside. Being treated fairly is a birthright and no one should have that taken away from them.

It's so easy to give to someone else. To make sure your family's needs are met. To make sure the house is in order. When a friend calls asking for help, you're right there to help them. But when do you make time for you? When are you going to make yourself a priority?

Now is the time. Its time to be more intentional about filling up your own cup of love so you're not giving from an empty cup to everyone else.

Are you treating yourself like someone you love?

[Inspire & Thrive’s Backstory]

Creating Inspire & Thrive Co. was a whole process. There was so many twists and turns along the way that it drove me crazy, but believe me when I tell you that I know it was all worth it.

Firstly, I was reflecting on my life last summer, asking myself what I wanted my future to look like. At the time, I was running a handmade business, Liv4Friendship. I just hit my 12 year anniversary, but something in me just wasn't feeling as excited for my business anymore. I made the big decision to close my Etsy shop and business. Letting go of something that I felt no longer served me or brought me great joy felt like a big weight lifted off of me.

With Liv4Friendship done, I could then focus on other projects, like my digital product business, LivsPrintables. At the time, I was only selling spreadsheet PDFs that I had created for myself while running Liv4Friendship. I figured my spreadsheets could help others, so I opened a 2nd Etsy shop and offered them there.

I decided that I wanted to go all in on creating digital products and build up my shop, but I didn't want to keep serving just entrepreneurs. I felt a bigger calling. After reflecting on my own journey of self-love and building up my self-worth, I felt the need to 'give back' and help other women become their best selves. Yet I still felt a great desire to still help small biz entrepreneurs. What to do? I decided to open a second digital product business, EmpowerHer Empires, that you can also find on IG and Etsy. I moved the spreadsheets I was selling to EHE. This opened the door for me to serve women.
I then decided to rebrand LivsPrintables to better reflect my new mission, but what happened next made me change the way I was going to run my business...

I had a conversation with a male friend about men's mental health and the lack of resources for it. We also talked about the stigma of how society wants men to not show emotions. I had told my friend about my new business and he asked me if I could help with this dilemma. Our conversation got to me. I know women aren't the only ones who need help becoming better versions of themselves. Men do, too. I was going to focus on women because I can relate to them more and was wanting to help them better themselves as I had done for myself, but a small voice told me, this business could serve alot more people if I included men, so I did.

After months of planning and agonizing over aspects of the business trying to figure out how I wanted it to look, feel, and run, I launched Inspire & Thrive Co. in December, 2024.

Looking back on this journey, I know that by letting go of Liv4Friendship was like closing the door to something that didn't bring me as much joy as before. This allowed the door to open for LivsPrintables to grow and become the now empowering brand you see here. This also allows me to create products I only have to make once and sell repeatedly instead of trading time for money creating bracelets as I was with Liv4Friendship.

Know that sometimes you have to let go of old things to create space for new and better things. Letting go of old habits that don't serve you can make way for more fulfilling, healthier habits, thus creating a better life for yourself. That's my wish for you. That's why Inspire & Thrive is here, to help you get to that next level, but you have to be willing to do the work on yourself. You ready? Let's go!

As the new year begins, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by lofty goals or the pressure to “fix everything” at once. Here’s your reminder: meaningful change starts with small, intentional steps.

This picture represents a day I was my strongest self. Flashback to October of 2023 - the day I filed for a divorce after over 20 years of marriage. I was unhappy and didn't want to be anymore.

I took this selfie after I left the courthouse to remind myself that, yes, I CAN do hard things.

I DO have control over my life.

I CAN work towards living a happier, healthier life.

But most importantly, I had to realize that I shouldn't wait on outside circumstances or on other people for my life to get better. I had to initiate the change.

And once I did, it felt like weight had been lifted off of me. I felt more free. I felt more like I had more control over my life.

That day, I was taking my power back.

Has there been a time in your life where you had to take your power back and initiate change in your life?

Let us know in the comments.

Remember, you are worthy of a happy life. You are worthy of being loved in a healthy way. You are worthy of abundance in all areas of your life. Believe this, and make a change!
