My Mission

When I became pregnant, it was not planned. I had no clue what I was doing. I did not plan on having children, I had not ever baby sat or cared for any kids and most of my friends did not have kids either. I walked into Baby’s R Us and had an anxiety attack. What stroller am I supposed to get? What is the best car seat? What the hell are ni**le pads and lactation cookies? What is the Baby Frieda and why in the hell would I want to suck snot out of my baby’s nose? I went to my greatest resource, the Internet to answer these questions. I was bombarded with different answers and a complex diversity of answers. Many posts were sponsored by a brand, so could the review be trusted? So, I did what I normally do which is to fly by the seat of my pants. This typically results in some mistakes, a rare success, learning experiences and some extraordinarily funny stories. Motherhood is a constant learning process, so I wanted to share that with others who may be in the same situation I was in or people who just want a good laugh.

I figured that I also needed to bring some actual expertise to my site so that readers could feel that they are gaining something other than a laugh or two, so I wanted to address female leadership. I have been in a place of having direct reports since I was 18 years old and have learned the hard way (just like motherhood) that being a female leader is far from easy. This is something I can actually share tips and tricks on.

Finally, tattooed because well, I am pretty heavily tattooed and can be treated like s**t because of it. There are still people out there who believe that having tattoos makes you dumb, slutty, criminal or low class. Granted my tattoos cost more than most people’s jewelry they are wearing, I am married, a non-felon and have three college degrees... I wanted to give my site a unique perspective that just because I am tattooed does not mean that I want to dress my kid in skulls and listen to heavy metal every day (nothing wrong with either by the way,) but just that I don’t want to be stereotyped.

This is my story. My mission is to share with others. I want to empower women to be amazing leaders. I want to collaborate with other women leaders and mothers. It is hard being a mother, let alone a mother who works full time.
