It is with a lot of sadness that we have to share. The passing of Beej Chaney of rhe Suburbs. His voice defined an era of minneapolis music and set the tone for the next generations to come. the Suburbs were a foundational band for the label, and helped pace a lot of road for other groups to travel much easier along.

The band’s original co-leader was known for his wild antics onstage and later owned a legendary Malibu recording studio.

Truly we lost one of the greats ;Slim, was an incredible talent, and an incredible man, he touched a lot of lives with his artistry . Our thoughts are with his friends and family.

I think his own words can maybe sum it up best tonight
“ Say a prayer in the fading light Somehow we'll make it through tonight And then over we'll be starting again

It's times like this
That we learn what we really miss”

Dunlap had a lengthy career in the Twin Cities music scene, which was abruptly cut short after he suffered a stroke in 2012.

We lost one of our own Laurie Lindeen from Zuzu’s Petals. A heartbreaking loss.

Laurie went into be a writer and in the comments is a gifted NY times piece she wrote.

The writer and musician died due to a brain aneurysm on Monday, July 1. She was 62.

An early influence for Bob Dylan and Bonnie Raitt, Koerner was a fixture on the West Bank of Minneapolis, especially at Palmer’s Bar. He died of cancer surrounded by family in the early hours of Saturday, May 18, at his Minneapolis home. He was 85.
