On December 30, 2024, Prince Koon, a messenger at Criminal Court A within the Temple of Justice, was apprehended in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, following an order from Resident Judge Joe S. Barcon of the Second Judicial Circuit Court.
On December 30, 2024, Prince Koon, a messenger at Criminal Court A within the Temple of Justice, was apprehended in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, following an order from Resident Judge Joe S. Barcon of the Second Judicial Circuit Court. Koon was accused of impersonating a lawyer, falsely claiming to be a graduate of the Lewis Arthur Grimes School of Law at the University of Liberia.
Koon had represented a client in court on two occasions, December 23 and December 30, which raised suspicions that led the judge to initiate an investigation. During this inquiry, Koon confessed that he was not a licensed attorney. As a result, Judge Barcon sentenced him to 30 days in Buchanan Central Prison and indicated intentions to notify the Chief Justice of Liberia regarding the matter.
