In 1959, Marty Robbins released "Big Iron," a gripping Western ballad that immerses listeners in a tale of law and order. Known for his distinctive voice and storytelling prowess, Robbins' rendition of this song transports audiences to the rugged frontier with its vivid imagery and compelling narrative. The lyrics, infused with themes of justice and bravery, paint a vivid picture of a showdown between a fearless lawman and a notorious outlaw. "Big Iron" quickly became a classic in the Western genre, showcasing Robbins' ability to capture the spirit of the Old West through his emotive vocals and cinematic storytelling. Its enduring popularity reflects Robbins' legacy as a masterful storyteller and his impact on country music history.

74 years ago today, on August 8th, 1950, Harmon Dobson --- a bold man, a man with a dream ----- opened this little ol' burger stand at 2609 Ayers Street in Corpus Christi. Originally, a Whataburger cost 25 cents. Harmon grossed 50 dollars that first day; his dream had been realized. I only mention it because sometimes there's a man... I won't say a hero, 'cause, what's a hero? But sometimes, there's a man. And I'm talkin' about Harmon Dobson here. Sometimes, there's a man, well, he's the man for his time and place. He fits right in there. And that's Harmon, in Corpus Christi ...😉

They do indeed!
